Well, if all the RID members send me a blank DVD and a self-addressed stamped envelope, I'd be happy to do it... well... I need a DVD burner too, but other than that I'd be happy too. lol
Actually, the whole thing will fit on a CD. Like I said, most of the file space is made up of unused assets like Adobe Photoshop PSD files. I think once I get rid of everything that I don't need, the final file size will be somewhere between 200MB and 300MB. Still alot, but I can always try to put it all in a heavily compressed zip file...
Then again, a project like this is supposed to be viewed from a CD, not downloaded over the internet. But, I really wanted to share this with everyone once it is complete, especially since it is all about SWG. Of course, I really need to finish the project first... hopefully by next week.

Well... if you can make a new movie in the next week that does a good job of portraying the GCW or guilds, I'd be glad to use it. Right now I am using this movie in a part of my project that talks about the GCW (I know, it relates more to guilds, but it is the best movie I can find that deals with combat and the GCW/guild wars. Plus, most other movies are done to music other than SW music and I really don't have the time to remix other movies).
And yes, a week. My project is due a week from tomorrow (Tuesday). Any video of base raids or GCW combat stuff would be cool (especially some footage of stormies taking out Rebels... what can I say... I'm biased... lol). Add some appropriate Star Wars music and it would definitely end up in my project.

Oh please Xan, the strike wasn't THAT bad
Besides, it was so uneventful, I wouldn't waste my effort making a movie on that particular event.
Basically what Xanus is referring to was a failed strike against a Combatant Detachment HQ's turrets. The Sith Hunter Rebels were causing trouble, and the strike team simply couldn't buy time to concentrate on the turrets. This led to a re-directing of targets, not a big deal.
Besides Xanus, that was the first time I worked with the Tatooine Legion, and XIII, BSA, and RID did not come in full force. Last nights event was a slapped together event to work with the Legion. Also, in the future we are giving more notice for events, AND more guilds, including THM on Lok, will join the Tatooine Legion (seeing how they are in the Network).
Sure, lasts nights strike wasn't the best night, but it wasn't a disgrace either. The Tatooine Legion is probably the only really tactical group in the Network (you can read more about that in another post I am going to write).

PLEASE DO NOT make any judgements based on last nites "event". it was originally just gonna be a small outing (though i did hype it up in the email). then it was gonna be postponed because of the Legion meeting (i didnt know it was last nite). at the end of the meeting we decided to try to something together. so we threw toether a last minute event and just picked a random target. ok so the target wasnt the best choice and things didnt go so well, but we strengthened our alliances and got to meet some great new imperial friends and tha was well worth the time.
Some people said some pretty negative things about last nites raid. while they are not wrong i do want to set some things striaght. First, the Network is not failing or falling apart. this is just a transition phase. we've seen this type of thing happen before in RID. the dedicated people pulled together and in the end we emerged stronger than ever. the same thing will happen with the network. Second, Cairne leaving SWG is not the end of the network. although Cairne was a huge part of our past success and will be greatly missed others will step up and MAKE this thing work. Finally, i know how easy it is to get down about things, i've done it myself, but the negative comments and attitudes do not help. in fact, they are counter-productive. if you see a problem instead of just complaining about it, why not come up some ideas to improve things and submit them thru the proper chanels (for RID members that would mean posting here, or emailing me or lexx). reminds me of the old saying "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem".
On a positive note, after everyone logged last nite, me and fen went to sahara and took 2 turrets off a FO. theres only 2 FOs left there now and both are ripe for the pickin'. it was well worth only gettin 3 hours of sleep last nite ( i took a nap this afternoon).

Sounds as if some things never change....
Anyways, back on topic. The good news is I previewed my project today infront of a group of about 25 people. Seemed like the overall reaction to my project was "wow!" While no one in the group actually plays SWG, it's still a good sign when I can get everyone to go "wow!" (Definitely means the visuals are good ) I still think my one section about the GCW is a little blank. It has some text and a graphic, but a movie would definitely help out that section.
A GCW movie to SW music would be much appreciated, but if nobody can make one then I ain't gonna worry about it. And if anyone does make one for me, you'll be mentioned in the credits!!! (OK, not much incentive, but it's the best I can do as a poor college student... lol)

First, you know I love being vague... It keeps people guessing... *whistles quietly to self*
Second, I'm actually not making a movie. If you have ever gotten some promotional CD from a company or college, then you might understand what I'm doing. Basically I am making a program using Macromedia Director MX 2004. This program is an interactive guide that covers most of the basics of SWG. It talks about Planets, Species, PA's, Player Cities, the GCW, and JTL. You can navigate through it using a menu system and there is animations, sound, movies, etc.
If you all are nice I'll post a screenie of the first scene.
