I can't sleep, but this idea popped into my head. Let's launch a new advertising campaign set to highlight our strengths; variety (as Apauck aptly put it).
We launch the new advertising campaign with a series of new posters - perhaps characterizations of various members?
But the pinnacle of the campaign would be in a new movie:
Regal Imperial Defenders - Excellence for the Empire
- Queue Imperial Imagery
- Clips from PvPing in Restuss, BFs, maybe invasion cities
No Defender left behind - we stick together, always
- Clips from Heroics, Invasions, random PvE
Defenders are geared up and ready to fight the toughest battles
- Space - Gunship firing blasters, escorted by 2-3 fighters
On the Ground or in Space, RID challenges/confronts/fights the Rebels
- RP Scene - confrontation with Rebels
No matter how you play, RID does it - and we do it well.
- Close ups on RID cities in Imperial-controlled zones
From the Outer Rim (Fort Oasis) to the Mid Rim (FNS) or in the Core (Fort Keen), RID reminds the Rebels of the vigilant Empire.
- Queue more Imperial imagery
Now, let's RID that Rebel Scum!

That's all we really need are some video editors. I'd be more than willing to arrange the 'scenes'. I'd recommend starting with the videos, the we work on "Member Profiles"; i.e. "RID is awesome because of <insert>." Of course, that would require someone familiar with Photoshop skills.

I have done some videos before, I just use the basic stuff. Here are what I have done in the past. There are also 2 other videos on the myspace list there that I made ("Tusken Ride" and the Need for Speed Tribute video) but the 2 here are the good ones I think. Unfortuently, the first one is a bit dark as I had the game's lighting down when I had made it.

The second is HGS's Christmas Video that they did this last December. Though that one you would have to download and depending on internet speed, it's 1.74 GB may take the night.

Well I do have Fraps, and I could always use Window's Movie Maker for editing. Though if someone has a superior program, that'd be better.
Maybe with tonights PvP group, we can start with filming there.
I think if we make a video, we should post it on as many SWG websites as possible. Obviously it would be counter-productive to post it on other guild forums (that would probably start a flame-fest), but by posting it on the Starsider forums, Starsider Roleplay forums, and other websites, such as Allakhazam or whatnot, we can probably reach more people.
I think part of our operation should be to find a way to reach people who play SWG, but don't really read forums. How to do this, I do not really know. But the more suggestions the better!

The way to reach the people who don't read the forums is pretty simple:
1) Make RID as visible as possible
2) Actively recruit, and/or pass out information in populated areas.
The key is to be proactive about putting the word out about the guild in-game as well as on forums.
