Erougn
Moderator:Lexx Yovel
Decra asked Lexx to persue Erougn as a potential new recruit. Erougn left after Arev was made Council Member. I know the butted heads and I'm sure that is probably 90% for his reason leaving. Now I guess he had left several times before and Lexx told him it would be the last time (although, I know u mentioned it was more out of anger Lexx). Question for Lexx; did Erougn approach u about coming back? Question for Council, should we let him back? He did some good stuff for space and generally I do not remember him being a problem. I had one run in with him a long time ago where he wanted me to add a member saying "If Lexx doesn't like it, blame me" to which I refused. Mainly because I was a new Council Member and at the time I had what was supposed to be temporary invite rights. Anyways he threw a fit. Of course now I would just tell him to F off. So if Erougn wanted to come back, what are your general opinions? I have to say, I do not like supporting a city as a RID city if the mayor is going to come and go all the time.

Well sure he is welcome since he helps guildies a lot but the problem with Erougn is he wanna do space things. I don't know many guilds but I'm pretty sure there's not a lot who got active member who are doing 50% Space and 50% other things. If he comes back he will be in the same dead end i.e. we don't have player who do much space.

Unfortunately, I totally agree with you Bovive on this point. The cities in the RID network must be lead by a RID member. Like I said earlier, he's welcome but he won't be happy.
Interesting points Daiho. He most likely would be bored because nobody does space and then leave. On another note he is a guild jumper, and has sort of a bad attitude. Do we want someone like that representing us? And, if we have to think very hard about him coming back is that a sign that perhaps we shouldn't? I was never very impressed. *puff* *puff*
btw Daiho, because this is the Executive Lounge; Lexx, Tenvik, Arramen, Corv and I started the *puff* *puff* thing a long time ago. Feel free to partake in the *puffs*

Erougn did leave after Arev joined the Council. Though I thought otherwise, he insisted that he did not leave because of Arev. What made me angry at the time was that I thought he left because of that. He apparently just wanted to try other guilds. He's only seemed to join WAKE during his time outside of RID, and he only seemed to stay in that guild for a week.
Erougn did not contact me directly, but he does have interest in joining. I believe he contacted Decra, asking if I would allow him back.
After last nights meeting, I told him I'd discuss it with the Council. I told him in a half-jokingly/half-serious tone that if he plans to rejoin, I'm binding him to a contract where he can't leave the guild for at least a year.
If he does rejoin, I want him to be sure that this is his right decision.
It should be noted though that Erougn's alt, Gatekeeper, is already in RID, and has been for some time.
With him joining, we could probably offer more assistance for Fort Victory. But you're right, I'm grow weary at the thought of him leaving again.
I'll ponder this further and allow the rest of you to discuss it any further.

For obvious reasons, I don't feel this is the right guild for him. I think he'd be happiest in a space oriented guild like ONYX. My own run with him was when I wanted Leg to have a house in Ft. Victory and he refused coz Leg was Reb at the time. I wanted the Remember title, which I never got, ditto for the Empire title. I thought that was pretty shallow considering we were guildmates.
I'd love to do space, but the parts in my ship stink. I'm not far from ace and would love to finish.

I'm not sure, but I think I remember him making a post on these boards, about denying you to Fort Victory.
He said something like RP'ing there as a Rebel would hurt the Imperial integrity of the city. He has a pretty stringent policy where no Rebels are allows to enter any buildings within the city, or even use their services. So I think he pretty much city-bans any Rebel he sees. It's caused some complaints, but I think it mostly has to do with it being a PvP location.
I'll speak to him and see if RID is really for him. I'm surprised he has not yet joined ONYX when he left. He seemed to just join WAKE, which is hardly an active guild.
I don't think there's anything wrong with him personality-wise, but yes, we would like to be sure he doesn't leave so shortly after joining again.

Well I spoke with Erougn today, I do believe he genuinely wants to return. Though you all bring up valid points, particularly you Daiho. Will he be happy in RID if we aren't as active in space as he would like us to be? I asked Erougn this very same question today. He says during his time outside of RID, he's found that as far as space is concerned, guilds are pointless. He claims the pilots of Starsider are so scattered, it makes no difference which guild he flies for. He then insisted he simply "misses his buddies in guild chat," as he put it.
I wouldn't exactly lable Erougn as a guild-hopper. Up until recently, Erougn has only been in RID, and has been for several years (I think around four). He claims he simply joined WAKE as a joke.
Concerning why he left, I asked him why exactly he did leave. I'm not sure whether or not it's true, but he claims he left because he didn't want to split the guild between himself and Arev. He was never a big fan of Arev, and felt that being a member in RID with Arev as a Councilman would cause more harm than good.
I did make it clear to Erougn, that if he does plan on joining RID again, he's definitely not to be allowed to rejoin (if he leaves again). I know I told him this right after he left last time, but I didn't understand the full scope of the situation at the time. I was also stressed by some internal issues going on at the time.
The thing is, he does have his alt in RID, named Gatekeeper. So I'm really just wondering if it would make a difference either way.
As far as Erougn's attitude, well, I don't think he particularly has a negative attitude. He may come across as a bit abrasive, though I wouldn't say rude. As far as his contributions to RID, I don't see him contributing in any other way besides helping RID's become better pilots. That's really just the person he is. He loves space, and if that's what he wants to help others with, I don't really see a problem with it -- so long as he understands not everyone is into piloting either. But Erougn knows of ONYX. He would have joined them if he was looking for a pilot-only guild mattered so much to him. So I don't think it would matter to him if not everyone in RID liked piloting.
Also, as far as Fort Victory is concerned, we aren't supporting them. Since Erougn left, the only thing I've been doing for that city is decorating the city hall for him. So whether or not he joins RID makes no real difference in that regard. He'd likely be doing a well enough job maintaining the city on his own. Though, having the mayor of that city be tagged as a RID would probably lend the city more credibility. It would be nice if the city located right near Restuss was officially recognized as a RID establishment.
You're right Corvallon, it's ultimately my decision, but I don't want to make decisions without respecting the opinions of the Council. So the best I can do is persuade you guys differently
I know Erougn pretty well (which probably explains I'm saying this things). He's loyal, and doesn't like to be a drama-queen. But I definitely swear that if he decides to drop out of RID once more, he will never be given another oppurtunity.
