There's a lot of good conversation that has shown up on this second page of the discussion and it seems like to more opinions that are heard, the better perspective we (the leaders) gain on what we should do.
In regards to dividing things up even more, I think that a couple of us have definitely pointed out our reservations about it. It's this simple: we've tried fancy divisions before and it just didn't work. There simply are not enough active players in RID who also want to be real leaders and organize things. That was the way it was before and the way it is now. We have three divisions, so that means we have three captains, three commanders, and a guild leader. Of those, how many play regularly enough to organize and attend events. Out of that 7 I can think of 3... maybe 4.
The key to really fixing all of our divisions (specifically army) is to find people willing to organize events on a schedule. Do we really need to break down PvP and PvE into their own subgroups? Not really. We're probably better off having a specific combat division (Army) with PvP and PvE liasons The key is that who ever is one of those liasons has to be willing to head up groups for PvE or willing to help organize PvP events outside of just Restuss.
The same can be said for our other two divisions. The Navy was the epitome of this before Fyonna went MIA. All we need is someone to organize events. These events need to occur on a regular schedule and should have a purpose (PvP, GCW, etc.). I think as we can produce more events and a regular schedule that are planned well, members will respond in a positive manner.
Is this post a little different than what I've been saying? Yes, but the more I think about it (especially after Kioet's post) the more I wonder how reorganizing the divisions would really work out. I mean, what if we took the Army divisions and kept the commander position. Then, underneath the commander, we just had one person in charge of PvP and one in charge of PvE? Don't split up the members in any way. Each captain (PvE and PvP) basically works to schedule events respective to their position. I think if the events occur in a regular schedule and are organized and fun, things would work out well.

This is the best compromise within the scope of our current existing membership that I can think of right now Kurke, and the direction I'm leaning too is to just add a second Captain in charge of PvP who can focus all his energy into pvp activities. The Army is pretty much the biggest Division we've got, so it won't hurt to add a second Captain just to share in the work load I'm thinking.
I would really like to hear from Amaroo. If she is going to have trouble finding time to play, then I would grudgingly agree to a PvP captain otherwise I would like to just see Amaroo run the PvP side. As far as the subdivisions, I would be willing to find a compromise, but I want to see an on call list and a way to tag members of the army as PvPers. Someone expressed some concerns about members of the army being harassed because they aren't helping someone pvp, so there needs to be some way for a person to identify who is willing to pvp and who isn't.

Here's my new concept.
It's similar to the old school system. Basically, Lexx leads, then he breaks down into 5 subdivisions, each of which has 1st-48th in command, giving a total of a billion and a half guild representatives, all of whom get special privileges. Promotions must be decided upon by a 3/4ths vote, and can't be decided upon till everyone has voted. If someone is inactive at the time of the vote, hold another vote in order to decide on the vote for the missing person.

I agree with the replacement of Lexx with Squirtle, but only if we get a sunglasses-wearing squirtle. If the squirtle does not wear sunglasses, he won't be cool enough for us.
I don't think we even plan to change the divisions. What we need to really focus on is event planning and maybe tiny bit player training. Maybe we just all need to set some like... I dunno, list of duties and responsibilities for the Officers so they know what's expected of us? Beyond things like "there's never any groups running when it's convenient for me" and "I never get loot I want/need" I mean, those are vague, and the only real guides I have toward what I'm supposed to do as Army Captain.
Oh besides keep all Lexx's notes and be his typist
And I think Xoseh is supposed to bring us all Caf all the time, pretty sure that's in there somewhere.

This is a warning, if you are no longer in RID or you no longer play SWG (because we do make exceptions to a few people), please stay out of the rest of the thread so that we can stay on topic. Otherwise, I will delete your posts. Thank you.
