I've been keeping a closer eye on my count, haven't noticed anything lately, though I really don't think it is anything sinister, just the fourms dropping posts.

I think I'm still going to delete a post because you got a post for defending your double post.

Hey guys, I need some advice on CPU shopping. I was looking into an AMD duel core 4600+, 2.4GHz, 2000FBS, 2x512kb cache, but someone was telling me that latest generation of intels are better, but they are more expensive. If i went intel I'd be looking at duel core, 1.86GHz, 1066FBS, 2MB cache. Anyone know if its true that the 2MB cache makes it faster despite the lower speed and fbs?

Go Intel right now. Currently, they are way ahead of what AMD can offer at the moment. Definitely go with the Dual Core line of processors. The E6300 is a good entry level processor (for the Dual ore world), but you will appreciate the extra clock speed of the E6400. The E6400 has a 2MB cache, but the E6600 has a 4MB cahe. The extra cache is kind of a waste unless you are doing a lot of DVD burning. Otherwise, the E6400 and the E6600 are about neck and neck performance wise. It's really hard to compare the differences between the FSB simply because the architectures between AMD and Intel are so different.

Thanks Kurke, I suppose i just still don't understand why the intel is so much better.
Also need advice on a graphics card, but I have no clue what to do with that. Still need to look into them a bit more.

Intel's dual core line is simply faster than anything AMD has on the market right now. In most tests, the Intel Dual Cores will outperform anything up AMD's sleeve. There are a handful of tests where AMD has the upper hand, but not by much.
As for graphics cards, that is a choice you'll have to make given A. price and B. motherboard support. Price is always going to be a major sticking point for any consumer. What types of video cards your motherboard will support is another. If you're buying a new mobo, you might as well pick up something with a PCI-E x16 port on it for your video card. This will give you some upgrade options down the road in the video card department. If you are still using an AGP card, your options will be limited as far as permance video cards goes.
PCI Express ports are the way things are now. I remember when regular old PCI slots were king. Then came AGP and it's various iterations for video cards. Now, we're back to a PCI variant... Next thing you know, someone will whip out a 1 terabyte 5 1/4" floppy disk... haha!
