The real reason why I hate Halo.

Alright the reason I hate Halo is because I suck it. And there is no other shooter that I don't consistently come in first place. I just don't straight hate it though, I hate it for the reasons that I suck it. There is something wrong when I have the highest hit percentage and the lowest number of kills. And no I'm not hiding, I'm just not killing. Its just low quality FPS environment compared to other games. It either needs to be hardcore like UT or go covert like SOCOM. And its FPS with no option to change to 3rd person. First person is standard for computers while third person is standard for consoles. Thats it, so there.

first person kind of gives you the "in there shoes feeling"... Oh and you mean I could probably beat you at a violent game?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Game development 101: Use 1st person for all computers shooters and use 3rd person for all console shooters. Thank you Gears of War developers for paying attention in your respective game development classes.

halo violent?!?!?! r u crazy waucod... halo is the most slowest game ever specially online.. i think its crap and idont see why people play it i never even understood the story line o_0 easy to beat lvls and online is the same lame weapons imo u can change to 3rd person in ut btw but does really work with weapons that will only shoot waist height. Halo is just HYpe and when you really look at it its one of the worst ffps

I played gears of war on a buddies system...and cod3 on a different next gen...360 is smoother than ps3, Wii kixs both their asses as far as fun factor. The whole time I played Red on Wii, i was on my feet and running around the room. The sports games are graphically weak, but the controls are what we always dreamed we could be......

At $249 the Wii wins in my opinion. Time will tell.

Anyways, Apium is right. Computers are much better suited for first person shooters and consoles are much better suited for third person shooters. The reason being is the twitch factor. A mouse and keyboard gamer will turn console gamers into their own personal bitches in first person shooters. The mouse and keyboard combo is just better suited for twitch combat. Console FPS games play ALOT slower than PC FPS games. Go play Halo and then go play Unreal or Quake on the PC. You'll see a hell of a difference.

What makes Halo great on a console is that it is paced just right for a console FPS and it is pretty balanced for the msot part. It has become unblanced simply because it has been exploited all to hell and Bungie has done nothing to rectify the problem. I know, they say that they keep banning people and shit, but I just don't buy it.

Apium, welcome to my world. The game has been so over-played by the religious gamers that it does not make casual gaming fun. The religious focus on being so damn elite, it just isn't fun anymore and thats why me and my friends gave up on it long ago. My one friend is a religious Halo player and is a sniper god. Of course, he only plays with the controller sensitivity at max setting and thinks super bouncing to the top of the level is fun. Yeah, maybe for him. Meanwhile, I'm stuck getting my ass kicked by some prick up on a crane 40 stories up who has the only sniper rifle...

Now, when we go into no-shield matches I can kick his ass any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I grew up playing intsa-kill in Goldeneye for the N64, so no-shields in Halo really plays to my strengths. The shitty thing was that it took 2 years before Bungie finally put that game variant on Live as one of the primary game variants (meaning I didn't have to cross my fingers and get lucky or do custom games all the time).

Still, I've always been a better FPS player on a PC than a console. My friends can usually take me in Halo 2, but pick any PC FPS off the shelf and they become my bitches.

I still haven't played Gears of War yet, but it looks like a shitload of fun.

Halo is a solid shooter, it just doesn't appeal to people who started out with UT and Quake. Its insanely slow, even compared to games like socom and battlefield 2. I'm done hating on halo though. I've given it more hate than due.
