Creature Handler for the win.. Who cares about Jedi anyways.. I chuckle to myself every time I hear a jedi coplain about all the work they did grinding out profs and such.. Sorry but I think its funny. One of the main reasons I still play is because I wasnt one of the jedi who grinded 24/7 and got screwed over at the end, if I wouldve unlocked pre-pub 9 I wouldve been long gone by now.

I don't think this new Friday Feature is in any way connected to the jedi folly that happened to you in the past. In fact, the only people who this would even remotely affect are the roleplaying populace in the game ( which is what is really still bringing in the money).

I think I'm with Takura on this one. Yes I know it sucks, but I can't help but laugh to hear people reminiscing about the old ways. Truth is, a lot of people were hoodwinked into thinking that they would be able to make a Jedi in StarWars Galaxies. Hell, JEDI is what made the whole saga the multimillion dollar industry it is today. Yet, alot of the people realized that they would prolly never be able to see Jedi given the amount of time they would have to put in, and what they were able to apply to this game.

Honestly, StarWars Galaxies in the first year was nothing but a horrible grind. There was no room for much roleplaying because of its horribly unbalanced pvp system, the Jedi trainwreck waiting to happen, and the slew of bugs that were rampant. I honestly feel sorry for the many that spent so much time from their lives just so they can earn bragging rights when they unlocked. Hurray for you, you have a lot of time.

Am I sorry Jedi has been changed so? Nope. It wasn't fair for the larger population of players to fall prey to the immensely overpowered class that only few had the time to actually unlock. Remembering pvp in the days with jedi that took 45 minutes to even get close to kill, makes me break out in a cold sweat. The game wasn't fun for anyone but the few who managed to open their FS slot. I canceled my account once during this time because I didn't feel like logging on into a game that was built to fuel the "I am God" ego of the Jedi. (Elvander anyone?)

I came back around the addition of the Village. It was a bandage, an attempt to appease the many of people who threatened cancellation if they weren't presented with a way to obtain Jedi. Was it much better?... not really. It was still a constant grind, except now you knew what you had to do, instead of stumbling around blindly profession from profession.

At the same time, many subscriptions were being cancelled. People who wanted to experience the Jedi part of StarWars didn't want to "have to" wait 4+months to be able to get there. In essence, SOE was making them pay for 4 months to earn their Jedi. Now thats BS. There should never have been a time limiter (phases) implemented into Village.

But oh well, it doesn't matter anyways. Developers were jumping ship, the game was destined to flop unless someone hit it with a defibrillator. Which brings us to CU/NGE. The game needed a jumpstart to keep the larger community happy, and keep the money comming in.

So what are the "veteran" Jedi really angry about? Is it that they put so much time into becoming a jedi? Nope. Is it because anyone can now be a Jedi with a push of a button? Nope. (Jedi were going to be crawling around in abundance by now anyways with the village). It is my belief (and opinion no doubt) that the real reason Jedi are so angry with NGE is because they got severely castrated. The Jedi of the old lost so much power with NGE. They now became the same as everyone else who plays Starwars Galaxies. No longer can they go about destroying 4-6 players at a time anymore (average skilled players). Waving a glowing stick no longer became a symbol of superiority, instead it became a constant annoyance.

The Jedi of the old were dishonorably dethroned, and the only distinguishing characteristic to define them from the rest of the jedi is a ratty old cloak. I can only point and laugh at the closely huddled group of Elder Jedi murmering and chastising the many other nge jedi running about. What a scorned little group.

I'd assume had NGE gone through, however the Jedi profession was kept the same as before, there wouldn't be any complaints. Jedi would continue on "owning" and God complexes across the Galaxy would be appeased.

I salute the few Jedi who took the NGE change standing and kept on walking with a grin. You understand that there is no way things will ever be the same and you have moved on. /clap

For those who haven't let go, and let things like an RP enhancement announced in the official site get their panties in a bundle, I can only say things will continue to piss you off. As long as you hold on to something you can never get again, things will never get better for you. You'll probably end up quiting the game, seeing as the end goal is nothing like what you had and still want.

I'm probably the happiest Imperial there is. I've tried many, and I mean many, profesions, found what I like (officer), and really won't care if they nerf, boost, or get rid of my profesion entirely. I'm here for the love of Star Wars, not for the high of being the "PWNING BEST".

The funny thing is that everrit cage guy is one of the anti-NGE-ers XD
You can tell who is against the NGE on the forums by looking at their avatar. The test center icon was decided on to be the anti-NGE icon. Another thing, they didnt even implement the system into the game, theyre just telling people how they could RP their own system.

I forget that I am playing with mostlly teens in this PA, so let me rework this into an analogy that you can relate to:

You study your ass off for Final Exam. You don't play games, eat TV dinners in your room, miss all of your Season Finale's of favorite TV shows, don't go to the cool new release movies... for weeks.

You take your Final Exam and get an "A+", best in the class. You're hard work paid off, now you are looking at maybe getting into that college you really wanted to apply to. Feeling pretty good and happy, right?

But some of the other kids in your class had parties, played video games, went to movies and they all got C's, D's and F's and have to face going to Summer School. They're bitching and crying now, saying its not fair, the test was too hard and they didn't have the time to work for a better grade.

So their parents decide that they don't want their kids to go to Summer School, so the parents pool their money together and bribe the teacher to give the whole class an A+ grade, by offering to send that teacher on an expenses paid European Vacation. The teacher says, hey, money in my pocket, OK and gives everyone an A+ final grade.

So now everyone got the same reward you did, but you wasted a couple weeks of your life. Their parents just paid for it, and the teacher made out like a bandit.
