NASCAR is hardly the southern sport is used to be. I hardly consider myself a redneck (Consider my IT degree I'm working on, my help desk position at my job, my computer life, and my Xbox360.... OK, I still drive a truck... lol). However, I do live amongst enough of them. You'd be surprised by the number of Confederate flags you see when you go driving up my street. What makes all the more hilarious is that I live in northern Ohio. We're not even close to the southern states...

hahaha, I never quite understood the whole confederate south thing... I know it has something to do with the civil war... but don't know much american history.

Wonder how far I'd have to travel just to go to a race

Theres a road course in Watkins Glen New York that is in August or September.

It's in August, right around my birthday. Watkins Glen is one of only two road courses NASCAR races on, so if you are into road racing, you might want to check it out. You could even check out the Michigan races (2 mile, low banked, D-shaped oval) or even the Pocono races (2 mile, low banked, triangular shaped track). Those are a bit further, but manageable. I mean, It is like a 7 hour drive for us to get to Charlotte, NC. Oh, you could probably even go to the New Hampshire race.

As for the Confederate flag, it's really a southern pride thing, but I still don't quite understand it all. Then again, I'm from Ohio. Of course, I still can't understand why Ohioans fly the flag. Trust me, the bulk of them don't even leave this state, so they really don't have any southern roots. It's like some Ohioans are trying to prove how big of a hillbilly they are.

I could get into a discussion about the Confederate flag, but I think I'll step on someone's toes if I go any further.

something like that... Our history sucks we don't date back to a long time ago like the Brit and Smelly French (sorry if I offended anybody here didn't mean to)

And yeah all of those other tracks are cool too especially Pocono because they get to over 200mph (you can convert it) on the 2nd straightaway.

Yeah but you guys have more hockey than we do and a leaf on the flag and lots of people at my school think I'm Canadian.
