FW: RID's Command Structure for Dummies- Volume I- Keep for Reference!
TIMESTAMP: 1096807490
Hello all, and thanks for reading RID's Command Structure for Dummies. Today I am going to explain how the system works. If you dont like it, deal with it, RID has gone on a record streak of approximately 2 (and rising!) months without Civil War, and is now no longer on the brink of falling apart . So enjoy the guide!
First off, RID has 3 divisions, and currently, only 3 divisions. These divisions are Combat, Combat Support, and Crafting. Each of the three divisions have one Commander. Commanders have complete control over their division. But the Commander is in most cases, not to have control over a member that is not in his division. A Combat Division Commander cant control members of a Crafting Division and so on, but are to be respected, and to follow simple orders when neccesary. Division Commanders have benefits. Other than leading their members, all three Commanders can recruit members officialy 100%. As in sponoring them using the guild terminal, followed by accepting them to let them in.
The only division that has Squads are the Combat Division. The Combat Division has 5 Squads, that hold a maximum of 5+ standard units, and one Captain. The Squads are always evened out, so not one Squad will have an excessive difference in numbers to another Squad. The five Sqauds are lead by one Squad Leader Captain, or SLC's for short. The SLC's control the members of ONLY their squads. An Alpha SLC can't lead members of a Beta Squad. The Commander of the Combat Division can lead any of the Captains and their members. SLC's, like Commanders, have benefits. They also can recruit people, but instead of being able to recruit 100%, they can only recruit 50%. Captains (SLC's) can sponsor members using the guild terminal, but can only be officialy accepted by any Commander or I.
Now your asking why only the Combat Division has Squads. The reason for this is because a large percentage of the guild are Combatants. There would be no way for the Commander to control all members of the Combat Division. Combat Support and Crafting Division have fewer members, making them easier to be lead by one Commander. Now, here is a list of who can lead who, and who follows who!
Leader- Can control all members of RID
Commander of Combat- Can control all members of ONLY his division.
SLC Squad I- Can control all members of ONLY his Squad.
SLC Squad II- Can control all members of ONLY his Squad.
SLC Squad III- Can control all members of ONLY his Squad.
SLC Squad IV- Can control all members of ONLY his Squad.
SLC Squad V- Can control all members of ONLY his Squad.
Commander of Combat Support- Can control all members of ONLY his Division
(This Division has no Squads)
Commander of Crafting- Can control all members of ONLY his Division.
(This Division has no Squads)
Next we discuss what happens if somone gets in trouble. Now, we use the Chain of Command, and here is how it would work in the event somone did somthing bad. Lets say Bob, Combatant Unit of Squad Alpha I got in trouble. He did somthing horrible, like lets say, disobeyed orders and insulted some members. First off, the Leader would get angry. The Leader would contact the Commander of the Combat Division, and inform him what happened with Bob. The Commander now upset, contact the Squad Leader Captain in which runs the Squad Bob is in. The Commander informs the SLC how Bobs mishap. The Captain, now upst at having to both receive and omit a lecture, now talks to Bob.
We ask Bob if what he did was true. If he says yes or no, we contact witnesses no matter what he says. Now lets say we have proof Bob did what he did, then it is left to the Leader to make the decision. The Leader can either suspend, remove, demote, warn, or ignore, what happened. If The Leader chose one of those, then the decision is final. Normally the Leader will do what he feels is best, while at the same time not completely conflicting with RID's beliefs on the subject.
But if he either cant, or refuses to make the decision, whther it be lack of evidence, morality, or is uncomfortable to make the decision, then he leaves the decision to the Emergency Judgment Council (EJC), which consists of the three division Commanders. If one or more of the council members can't attend the meeting, then the SLC's work as back up, and will move down the list alphabetically to choose the Captain. For example, if one Commander couldn't make it, we choose the Alpha I Captain to attend, followed by Beta, Delta, etc.
Once at the guild hall court, the council members will start the session. Bob, could get somone to defend him, and somone to go against him. It is possible for it to be Bob vs. the entire guild of RID in the session. Bob can defend himself, and we ask witnesses on what happened et cetera, and finnally, in the end, the Council members make a vote. It would either be 3 out of 3 or 2 out of 3 votes for the council members to win.
Thats all for now folks, hope that helped!
