Here is what TRGA and I have spoken about so far on rules for TRGA vs RID:

Well I think most wars that are free run end up with each side meeting at one spot anyways, since the best part of wars is that you don't have to redeclare so you can keep the battle going with rezzes and clones (or set a limit of 2-3 clones if you want to define a winner of the battle). So basically, we stay warred but we only attack when a battle is setup. The first two nights we warred with -DS- we had maybe 6 or 7 battles each in a different city and traded off who picked and what the rules were. It was pretty fun.
This would mean that NO TRGA or RID battle unless:
1. a battle is set up
2. NO load ganking
Anyone want to add anything?

Sounds good to me! I also moved this to the War Chamber forums.
So basically, would we turn the war on and off? For example, say at 7:00 PM EST we arrange a battle in Fort Oasis... would we turn on guild war, and then turn it off again when the battle ends? Or are you saying leave it on 24/7, untill say another guild surrenders?

Yes leave in on 24/7... we would stay warred with the agreement that both sides ( all members of TRGA and RID) understand there is to be no attacking unless it is planned attack. So we stayed warred. We would need to send out a guild mail to all members of RID for example like this:
RID will be at war with TRGA. The following rules are in place:
There is to be no attacking unless it is planned by Lexx
There is to be no load killing
Rules like this sent to guild so ever one understands they can not just random attack....
Also I will draft up a Imperial War Decree agaist TRGA just to add some rping flavor...

Well, if we are doing the war only in pre-arranged battles (YUCK, for the record) then its just silly to leave it on 24/7. Whats the reason? Whats the benefit? Personally I don't want to PVP every day, just too much crap that I need to do, so if we're only doing prearranged fights one or twice a week, might as well just turn it on for that day.
The downside I see is things getting messy with running around Overt and seeing each other out and about and not remembering to check for the Overt symbol on their name. When I am Overt, red is dead. Hell most of the time I can't even remember their name, like today and that PHXSN I ran into at Theed... I recall the guildtag OK, but no idea wth his name was.

Pre-arrange battles are when both sides have the manpower on to make it fun. Pre-arrange battles also prevent attacks while people are grinding or not ready to pvp. When you go SF you are pre-arrange to fight as is any rebel who goes SF. Wars are with a group that we trust to play nice and follow a set of guildlines. Having the war 24/7 allows for people to act in a resposible manner, its easier to fight. This would not be pvp every night. While we are at war we would not go SF.

Saying the war should be off is just you saying you dont have the honor to respect the rules of engagment.

I wont feel comfortable going to war unless all RID's understand the rules of engagement. We wish to hear your feedback however, but once a finalized set of rules is set, it is *your* obligation to follow the rules or risk punishment by breaking them.
TRGA wont trash talk, I know that much. Issele knows the leader of TRGA personally to my understanding, and if TRGA does anything, Issele will immediately contact Xaneth.
The war is to be done fairly if it does go into effect soon. No load ganking is easy... simply DONT attack the Rebel untill you see him/her walking out of the shuttle.
I do agree that maybe we should turn the war on and off for specificly arranged battles, but I'm not 100% certain.
Also, what should we do to prevent clone camping?

I think the idea that two people can start an RP fight is a good one.
If I see a red dot I can go up to him, and either in RP or just talking in tells, make sure both sides agree to a fight, once there is a death, come to an consenus that it is over.
Any comments on that?

I believe in absolutley no mercy. And no safe zone anybody can be attacked anywhere.

What about people who don't wish to participate then?
To be brutally honest from the posts made... I don't think RID is ready for this style of guildwar.

I dont know why it's so complicated for people to understand basic rules. I dont feel comfortable going to war if RID is going to neglect the rules we place. All that shows is that RID is undisciplined. Breaking the rules will only hurt RID, not TRGA...
