Help for an RID noob
Moderator:Lexx Yovel
Ive met many people in RID, and have liked almost all that ive come across. But I have no idea who they are, like if they have been in RID from the start or if they are new. I posted this in the war chamber because I wanted to know more about these 3 combat sections ive heard so much about. I havent had any formed pvp with RID since ive been in RID. Could anyone post who the commanders are, what sections they are over, what section I would be in (level 84 commando), and what do I do when we are in combat. Any info would be great.
You are in the Infantry section under my command. Levi is the only other one in our unit that is active. We just don't have enough active people to do anything unit wise in pvp.
I have always been a little confused on why we have so many combat units myself, but in PvP we always go as one big group.
Phow leads the Black Ops unit and Issele leads the Dark Adepts.

RID only has three divisions. This is how it works:
Combat Division
-Infantry Squad: Contains all fighters, except for jedi
-Black Ops Squad: Contains elite fighters, and people used for intel gathering
-Dark Side Adepts: Contains Jedi
Combat Support Division: Contains medics and entertainers
Commercial Division: Cpntains crafters
I have to agree with Leviathen. It's simply a communication issue. I'ts partially my fault, because I dont teach members what their roles/positions are.
Thing is, when it becomes time to fight, it doesn't really matter; everyone is just a cobled mess anyways.
I suppose we could do it like this:
Combat Division: Contains all fighters, except for jedi
Dark Side Adept Division: Contains jedi
Combat Support Division: Contains medics, and entertainers
Commercial Division: Contains crafters
I think the above idea was suggested a while back. We could simplify it by removing squads, and pulling it into 4 big divisions. The only problem is whenever we use the judgment council, we'd use the three commanders as judges. If we used this sytem, there would be 4. Should we make it so that the Commercial Commander is only used in the judgment council in emergencies?
Also, the reason I am breaking jedi into one division (in the concept), is because of their numbers in RID, and for RP/practical reasons.

This is a suggestion on top of that... just so people understand systems like these and others.
Make a senior RID member responsible for new recruits. Write a list of RID you have very good faith in, and then just cycle through them, assigning them to be responsible for new RID recuits as they come in. Doesn't need to be a big production, just send a tell/email to someone informing them to make sure John Doe knows all the rules and such.

I like the idea of four big divisions better than the squads. If more people were active (and it sounds like it's opposite of that), then squads would work. That's been the fundamental flaw since we ever conceived squads. They only work if people are active. At least with everyone bunched into a group, you can manage people better. The big downside is that you lose internal ranks (i.e. Captains), which would cut down on RP.
Now, as far as the judgement council goes, you can easily do it with with an even number of judges. Look at the U.S. Senate. There are 100 senators. In the case of a tie, the Senate leader is the tie breaker. You can do the same with the judgement council. You can have four judges and you (Lexx) would be the tie breaker. Otherwise, you need a 3/4 majority to pass a motion.
I was going to suggest exactly what Kurke said for judgements.
And I do like the idea of four big groups, there isn't enough divisions two need three groups divided into more groups.
Before each RID event we can deside what group will be assigned to what role. This will help improve battles as we know who will be answering to who, and it wont just be a mass free-for-all.

ahhhhh ok thanks, im pretty clear now. I like the idea about having to tell someone about the rules, it helps for each RID member to get to know that person better. When I joined RID lexx didnt really tell me much. Not his fault, I know he is very busy trying to hold a guild like this together with everyone having their own ideas and such. Any thing else I should know plz post and let me know
And Captain Markel and General Lexx, I dont mind helping. If you need any help at all, I can and will help.
