The Fall of Apium Auvair

((This was orginally much longer, but I decided to shorten it vastly. Sorry for the metagaming, you'll get over it.

The Fall of Apium Auvair
Apium leveled his sights on the red figure in his HUD. The sight jumped suddenly reacting to the startled movement of its operator.
“Matron?”
A surprise. A good surprise. The traitorous Rebel who had made a fool of RID before showing his criminal nature.
“I’ll get a medal for this one” Apium joked to himself.
“Here is your metal Imperial fool.” Apium recognized the voice as Kaizer Callistra, just as the voice’s owner brought the butt of a lava cannon down onto Apium’s armored head. The armor absorbed most of the impact, but failed to keep the helm’s inner electronics from going into “emergency shutdown.”
Kaizer pulled back his finishing blow as Apium’s once concealed knife was found driving at his stomach. The lunge was halted by the restraining hand of Matron.
Matron opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a moan from Apium as Kaizer drove a dagger up through Apium’s underarm, the only weak point in the Black Sun crafted armor.
“Fool. I wanted him alive, you probably pierced his lung with that clumsy stab.” This was confirmed as Apium began to cough up blood.
“It is no matter now. Just leave the corpse here. I don’t wish to claim the uncouth murder of an Imperial officer.”

Colonel Lexx Yovel leaned back in his chair. “Apium will be avenged.”
