Whose Gonna Govern Our Next City?

Hey RID,
Atm, we have Lexx as mayor of Fort Oasis, Erich' with Ft Ironwolf, and Sajuuk with Fort Amerowolfe. I hear Ft Ironwolf is doing wel and Fort Amerwolfe is coming along, and i know Ft oasis is solid, so im wonderin' what planet are we going to colonize next and whos gonna govern the city? It would be pretty awesome if RID colonized every planet and turned each RID owned City into a metropolis....really make us look good. I hope i can log on as soon as possible.

Once the two new cities reach past level 3-4, (and we manage past the chracter purge), I'd go for Naboo. However, Naboo may not have anymore room. I think a secondary option is to purchase an already existing city, some cities that are dilapidating. Better yet, a city without an active mayor is easy to be taken over, renamed, and renewed.
If not Naboo, maybe a quieter world like Talus, or Rori. I think strategically Rori would be a good choice because literally not a single Imperial organization (at least not a military one), resides on that world. Placing a strong Imperial city on Rori named Fort New Order or somthing would be cool.

I agree with Lexx, at the moment Rori is a very Rebel planet and that really needs to change. If we can place a small city there with many SF and PvE bases then we should be able to demonstrate great force in the name of the Galactic Empire. Rori looks just as nice as Naboo, if not nicer but isn't nearly as populated. I'm sure we'd be able to find ourselves a nice valley or field where a city could go. If anyone needs help locating a spot just ask, I'm pretty good at finding nice places to put housing down.

Yeah, problem with Rori is it's terrain, but I think there is a certain chunk of Rori that has nice and flat terrain.

Ya all planets have some flat ground to accomadate cities, Rori is definatly the most mountanous though

I once did a survey of the planet Rori. If there was any flat terrain, there was already a city there. I did stumble upon a little hill that was very buildable on, but it was only big enough for a level 2 city. Plus, I'm not too sure how close that hill was to any other existing cities.
Honestly, there's a lot of good terrain on Talus. It's kind of off the beaten path, but there's plenty of room there. IMO, Talus is one of the most underrated planets in SWG. There's a lot to do, especially if you're noobish. Not to mention there is hardly anybody there, so it is a nice place to go.

Rori sounds better if we wanna try and take the planet, but if I get back on I know I'll get offers to run a city (<--- sarcastic)but I'm afraid I can't. I don't go to those planets often so I don't know anything about the terrain but I think Rori sounds better.

Let the rebels have Rori, I wouldn't want it.

Yeah, my recommendation to RID, don't waste your time. You'll be lucky to find a place to put a city let alone walk 5 feet without stepping on a rebel.

I've been to Rori like once so I don't know much about I like the big worlds like Corellia, Tat, Naboo, and Dant

Actually, they are all the same size. 15km x 15km with 1km visibility around the outer edge (totals out to be 16km x 16km. The only things nice about those three worlds you listed is the terrain, traffic routes, and SW signifigance. Most of the other worlds don't have nearly the nice terrain that those three do and none of them have the SW history that those three do. Corellia is Han Solo's home, Tatooine has been in 5 out of 6 movies, and Naboo was Ms. Portman's home for the prequals. The other planets exist mostly in the EU. (Of course, SWG was the first time Corellia had ever been visualized)
That's the one big thing many players miss when they play SWG. There so many planets, but only half are frequented often by the player base. People neglect some of the lesser planets because you can't lvl up as fast as you could someplace else. The problem with SWG players (and probably MMO players in general), always in a hurry to lvl up and they miss the beautiful parts of the game.
There are parts of planets that most people never see simply because they are in too much of a rush. On Talus, there are these paths that are etched into some ridges along a mountain that run between little settlements. I only found them because I was surveying for city placement. The biggest detriment to SWG has been vehicles. People really don't get out an explore anymore, just drive from place to place, passing up many little points of interest (that aren't WP's in your datapad). I mean, if it wasn't for Fort Oasis' placement, you'd probably never see the old Jedi monument (or whatever it is) on your drive to Fort Tusken.
Simple building a city someplace just for military value isn't always the best idea. I have no idea where your other two cities are placed, but if you placed them for military signifigance, perhaps you could place one simply because the view is great. Not everyone want's to be in the war, and a city off the beaten path might be what some people need.
Just my thoughts on it all.

Make sure when you survey, there is enough room. A city's max size is a 500m radius. So wherever you think the city hall should go, place a WP and start scouting 500m in all directions to see what is placeable and what isn't. The biggest bummer would be placing a city hall only to find out you can only place houses in the 100m around it (meaning no future growth for that city). Also, check what the cap numbers are currently at for the planet.
