hey guys, it's been quite some time since I've been on this board or playing swg for that matter- I'm just dropping in to say hi to anyone who might have known me while I played. Since swg I've played WoW through the endgame (beat aq40), and now I'm going to start playing vanguard. If anyone plans to play VG be sure to look me up
.
so how has RID been going? As I was browsing the board there were a lot of new faces, and a few old ones. Kurke, bizob, zrinity, telemechus still out there? and of course the youngest succesful guildleader of all time is still fighting the good fight

blood mage. I'm going pure diplomat, or at least as much as they will let me. If the game is like I'm envisioning it, I'll be able to play diplomat the entire time without being forced to craft or adventure. I'm in the beta, I'm just waiting for some new computer parts to come in before I can actually play.

Though you can choose to concentrate on one sphere, you will be far more capable at said sphere if you are proficient in the others- they all tie together. For instance adventuring may proove hard without diplomacy because you may not be able to get a certain quest without the correct medium of persuasion. Your diplomacy will prosper for obvoius reasons if you have a strong influence on the economy. You won't be able to collect rare resources for crafting well unless you can defend yourself. There really isn't a reason to select one when you can excel at three. The city plots look interesting to me... I was given a griffon by a gm the other day and I saw some plateaus and islands that look only reachable from the air.
edit: also if you need to upgrade to play as most people do I suggest checking out pugetsystems.com. I'm getting a machine with a geforce 8800gtx, 4gig RAM, intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz processor for under 3k

posting in two threads is better than one
.
well lets see I can't really remember what happened directly after I quit... that might have been when I met my gf of the time, which probably was the catalyst. Another likely cause was my frustration with the ability to find competant people to uphold my many ideas on guild/mmo philosophy. I suppose I was spoiled by games that were hard enough that all endgame players were somewhat capable. I have to admit our JTL duo adventures were some of the funnest I've ever had in an online game
.
From there life just went on as usual til I picked up WoW, raided endgame, and still found it easy compared to mmos like EQ.
Now I'm living in charlotte and couldn't be happier:).

North Carolina? I live a couple hours away, near fayetteville.
As to upgrading, I don't have the kind of money considering I'm only in high school.
