RID vs TRGA Guildwar Rules

(subject to approval by RID administration)

Anyone wearing the "Helper" tag will be considered immune to attack. Do not abuse this rule one way or the other. Do not put up the Helper tag during combat, and do not attack people with this tag enabled. We want to enable those in our respective guilds who may not wish to participate to still play the game as they desire. We want to be able to not fight for a few minutes and shop at the bazaar, etc. With this being said, anyone wearing a Helper tag and engaging in combat is fair game for the duration of that fight.

No clone camping. Cloners and the surrounding 128m are considered a "safe zone" IF players are coming OUT of them. If players are already engaged in combat, you are not expected to stop because someone runs near the cloner. People coming OUT of the cloner are still to be considered immune to attack unless they join the attack.

No load ganking. Shuttleports, Starports and the surrounding 128m are considered "safe zones".

No fighting in cantinas. First, people are probably just socializing, and should have their Helper tag up. Second, we don't want to annoy people in the cantinas with fighting. Fight outside of the cantina and be courteous to other players.

No one under CL74 is attackable unless they are either part of an arranged battle, or they attack you first, OR you are a lower CL than they are. This is generally to prevent people from getting killed while just questing or grinding. However, if a CL 50 wants to attack a CL68, more power to him. This MUST be a solo engagement, however.

No crafter/entertainger killing. This obviously fits into the "under CL74" rule, but it's worth saying. We'd rather not have anyone killing low level chars on either side of the war, because all it does is make those people less likely to PvP in the future.

Additional Safe Zones:
Endor, Yavin, Mustafar, and Kashyyyk.
If you come across anyone on these planets, they are not to be attacked unless you come to a mutual agreement with the persons involved and decide to have some fun. Mutual agreement is one time only. Just because they agreed yesterday does not mean they want to fight today, so make sure to communicate if this arises.

Anyone shown to be purposefully disregarding the rules or intentionally griefing will be disciplined accordingly. If their behavior warrants, a member may be dismissed from the guild. We are dead serious about this. This war has the potential to be very fun for all involved, and we don't need anyone ruining it for all involved because they wanted to boost their PvP rating a little bit and killed an AFK person at the bazaar, or slaughtered a dancer in a cantina. Use common sense in this war, and when in doubt, send the person(s) involved a /tell.

Just a little addendum I added in the TRGA forums. Basically to let people know we're not joking around, and that if any drastic action is expected, we need some proof, not just hearsay. I'm sure you'd agree that we don't want to be acting rashly, so if you guys feel any TRGA member is in violation, please grab screenshots so we have something to work with!

Couple of additional things:

1) We will hopefully be starting this soon. Just looking to run the rules by the guildies on both sides.

2) You have no idea how serious we are about people breaking these rules. We understand that once in a while accidents can happen, misunderstandings can occur, etc. I am dead serious when I say that abuse of these rules will lead to dismissal from TRGA.

If you feel that a RID member is abusing the rules, be prepared to provide proof. Screenshots, chat logs, anything to support your case. Neither side will be taking this lightly, so we will need evidence if you feel the rules are being broken.

Sounds good, but I want to make some suggestions.

Is it possible to allow say... a level 40 initiate a fight with a level 60, without a Helper tag?

The rule would read, "No killing anyone below CL 74 unless they shoot first, OR you are a lower level." How is that?

Also, I like the "mutual agreement" for the adventure worlds. At first I thought fights were restricted completely there, but agreed fights make sense.

Agreed. I'll edit my post. If you are a lower CL than your target, you can ALWAYS attack, however, 1v1 only. I don't need CL90's joining in on that type of fight, know what I mean? I don't want to end up with people going around with a CL50 in the group just to initiate a fight and then have the rest of the group jump in.

Also, I would expect that if the CL70 were using a Helper tag, the CL50 will NOT attack.

Yes, good point. I overlooked that.

I would like the CTF event planned for Saturday, if that's alright with you.

We've had some requests to pull some of the safety restrictions off of shuttle/starport areas. Would you guys be ok with just keeping the area where the ship lands in the starports (the..."outdoor" area "in" the starport, if that makes sense) as safe, but inside the starport building and anything beyond that is fair game?

We'd also like to see "smaller" safe areas around shuttleports, because frankly, we shouldn't need a whole ton of room to load in, survey the area, and put up HELPER tags if necessary.

We're not trying to make it easier for anyone to get load killed, just have had people point out there's not a whole lot of reason to have a huge circle around a load area. Once you load in you should have a quick look around and decide whether to shuttle out, put up a Helper tag, or just looking for someone to fight!

Thoughts?

I think RID would like that better. Allowing you to not fight in the outside part of the inside of the starpoirt  would be better. But what specific rules should we set for shuttleports? Should we make it so that you can only shoot once you see the enemy move?

yeah, that's what i mean. the outside part inside of the starport is off limits, lol.

as far as shuttle zoning, i think that we could live with "if they step off the shuttle structure". would give people the ability to move around, buy a ticket, but not really go anywhere. if they leave the little stairways/ramps on either side of the shuttle entrance, they're fair game? sound good?

Yep, I think RID's would like that idea. It'll be an easier message to get across too. I forgot if this was mentioned before, but what if they are running *to* the starport/shuttleport? I assume shooting them would be acceptable?

Shuttleport change resolves nothing. People can still put up the Helper tag to allow themselves safe passage off the platform. Only way to avoid that is to allow load killing. Same with the Starports... can just put on Helper tag before you leave the outside loading area.

The whole purpose of the Starport/Shuttleport safe zone rule is to prevent fights from occuring in the easiest locations to find people. The 128m rule forces people to fight in other places other than the tired old obvious dueling zones.

Thats all Cloners and Starports are anymore... just the main Dueling Arenas for any kind of PVP. Most of these ideas I've advocated for are not for anyone's safety, but for encouraging better quality fighting than the same old lame old. Ganking is for amateur PVPers, anyone can do it.
