Pronounciation of "Yovel"
Post
by Lexx Yovel » Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:35 pm
Throughout my time playing SWG, I've always pronounced names in my mind, much differently than their actual pronounciation. For example, I often think of Erougn as "Uroug-nih-uh" for some reason, even though it should be "Erin." Xoseh, I don't even know how his is prounounced, but I think of it as "Exo-Seh."
Anyways, vote on how you think "Yovel" is pronounced. Post what you think it is too.

I'm with bovive. Oh and I've always thought of Erougn as air-row-gn.
EDIT: Actually now that I've said your surname out loud a few times, I stand by my poll answer: Yah-vul.

This is a funny thread. And I always pronounced Xoseh like 'Zoz-uh' - just my guess.

I've always pronounced Erougn as ear-rown and I voted for Yah-vul
EDIT: Now that I've said that Yah-vul sounds very wierd.

I hear it as Yah-vehl, like Bovive, and Erougn like ear-own like Apium. How did you even get Uroug-nih-uh out of Erougn?

Yeah I say Yo-Vul as for Erougn I believe he has the most questionable pronunciation of a name that I have came across in RID you don't know how many different pronunciations of his name I have heard Me personally I say E-Ro-Gn, I know it is probably wrong but if I am wrong then lord don't let me be right!

I voted Yah-Vul, but that might also be my Midwestern accent.

No, I'm from PA and I say it the same way. Yo-vol takes too much effort, Yah-vul doesn't.

Just to further display the pronounciation of the three choices:
1.) Yo-vul as in "Noble"
2.) Yah-vul as in "Hovel"
3.) Yo-vehl as in "Noel"
Kioet', I never thought of my name being pronounced like "shovel." That's pretty interesting lol.
