Game Update 6 - Appearance Tab

Post by Bovive » Fri Dec 05, 2008 4:04 am

Coming in GU6 is the appearance tab. You can use any suit of armor and keep the stats from it, however show the appearance of any of armor you have in your inventory. Basically what this means is that you can wear any armor and have it show another, including the GCW armor, etc. I imagine because of this change they will probably not go back and make previous armor deconstructable. This should be coming out soon and if you need some armor just let me know :) Btw this also applies to clothing and jedi robes.

Yeah I read the producer note (I may get that posted soon). It's pretty good news and looking forward to it :)

Yeah, this probably means deconstruction won't matter much, though it still wouldn't hurt to add it in.

They have the same system in EQ 2 which I rather like since some of the best armor in that game looked like crap.

This also applies to clothing as well, right? I think it would be cool to run around in a uniform, or some civvies or even a TIE Pilot uniform.

I don't know if you can wear armor and show clothes or if it has to show armor. Couldn't seem to find any details on that.

I'm 90% sure (yay, I'm using percentages again!) that you can wear armor while displaying clothing.

At least in EQ2 where they had this same appearance tab you could have armor on and clothing in your appearance, so considering that both EQ2 and SWG are both SOE I am gonna say yes.

One thing though - I think if a slot is empty in your appearance tab it just shows the armor underneath it. I think this is to prevent people from running around naked but at the same time it may make certain looks tricky to pull off. I would suggest using a PSG - you don't want to have to hide a belt with a hula hoop. ;)
