At approximately 9 A.M. CST Wednesday morning I was cruising around up in space. I was just doing my own thing and reached for my glass of Coke I had sitting nearby. Well, I was flying so I just kinda felt blindly for it AND KNOCKED IT OVER!!!!! It got ALL over my laptop. I powered off really quick, pulled the power cord and battery as fast as possible. I cleaned it as best as I could and set it aside to dry. I went to work. At 9 P.M. CST the same night I put everything back together (I had taken the back off and stuff to clean). Plugged it in. Put Battery back in. Pressed the power button. Waited. Pressed it again. Waited some more. Nothing. Not even a flicker of life.

So unfortunatly I won't be ingame for a little bit. I have a desktop that once I get a new power supply for it I will be able to play on. The only bad part there is that the desktop can only do dialup, and I can't take it to town (it's too big) and download at the coffee shop. If I can, I'm going to try and get someone with an external hard drive (or if I can get one today) to let me take out their HD and drop mine in, and if it works, get all my stuff off of the HD. I go to ITT Tech for a lot of Design stuff (mostly 3D), and all of my portfolio is on that laptop, along with SWG. If it is possible to do it, I am going to just transfer the patches over to the desktop and hope that I don't have to redownload EVERYTHING. When a game is as "old" as this one is, it's a lot of patching hehe.

Now just to get in before my vendors (especially my storage one) and harvies go poof. I'll keep you guys up to date on my progress of getting back into the game. And remember, don't drink and fly!

A quick update:

83 hours or so left on the download, that is IF I can stay connected the whole time...which won't happen. Hopefully it won't be in the middle of one of the larger files hehe. Still don't have the power supply for this comp, so even the internet looks like crap lol, but I'm gonna try to pick one up this week. I am going through severe withdrawal symptoms. People around me don't mention computers, especially laptops anymore for some reason. Maybe cause I throw a tantrum? hehehehe.

I did go to dell.com today and looked at a computer they were trying to sell the store I work for. I built it up to what I would want in it (4 monitors ftw!!!!). Now just to find $17,800 for it lmao.

I'll pop back on and give you guys more updates as I get them. Until then, I'm gonna go stare at my wall, cause that is the only thing there is to do here after dark now.

Nope...having a prob on my end with launchpad. Gonna get a guy I know to let me drop my HDD into his Vaio and snag my data. I'm gonna grab all my game files as well. Still need a PS for this thing though. I'm trying as hard as I can to get back though.

Are you using that new-fangled beta launcher SOE is pushing or the original launchpad? Let me know if you need a link to the original launchpad and I'll get it for you.

I started using the Pre-JTL launchpad (I haven't used this comp for SWG since then...many upgrades later and I'm gonna try it again), but of course all of that is moot when it updates you to a newer version. What had happened was I was downloading the patches and stuff and it crashed. It wouldn't even try to start (got the little "launchpad has screwed up, sorry bout your luck, would you like to send another report to Microsoft that they can ignore cause they don't like Sony" box) after that. I went back to an earlier version, it didn't help. The same friend that is gonna help me get my data off my HDD is gonna help me get reformatted (lost the disks to this thing LONG ago). Mostly I just need to get this comp back up to snuff and then get SWG back on it. Power Supply and a fresh install of Windows and I should be all set, especially if my data on my laptop hard drive is still accessable.
