It is a 24 hour downtime to deal with some launchpad thing or something.

It wouldn't be a shocker. The game f***ing rocks!!! I've never enjoyed a Halo singleplayer campaign like this before! I'm sure multiplayer is total awesomeness, but I won't find out till I get internet on October 2...

I haven't finished the game yet, but I knew a long time ago the series would end when Bungie said there weren't gonna be any more Halo games (in the current trilogy at least). Given the cash cow that the franchise is, I imagine we will see prequals, side stories, and other style of Halo games in the future (like Halo Wars).

Did you hear about all the scratched Halo 3 discs that people ended up getting when they bought the collectors edition of the game? Apparently they can render your 360 inoperable lol. When you think about it, as much as this game is going to sell, MS and Bungie will need every penny to offset advertisement costs, disc replacements and system replacements/repairs.

I really don't think Bungie is going to have to worry about a few disk replacements. I'm sure Halo 3 will be one of the fastest games ever to breakeven. Bungie does not have to file their balance sheet because they are a private company, so I won't say for certain that this is true, but there is a good chance Halo 3 will breakeven by the end of the holidays. Besides if Microsoft published the game they paid for all of the manufacturing and advertising. Bungie only has to pay their employees.
