I would never just hand over a city, unless it was a last choice diplomatic kind of thing, which this is not. What are they offering for it? I would sell the city straight up, and cut all ties, if I chose to sell it at all. If you aren't getting anything and just want good relations then I would try to keep some ties with the city, even if it was only a single militia member.

Well I'll be a bit honest right now. I've known Ty'e pretty well back when he was in RID, he seems a bit different nowadays since when he left RID, we never really kept in touch.

I kinda went through too much trouble to get the city, and to get rid of it now would be a bit difficult as it makes everything done prior a bit useless. Ty'e kinda contacted me out of the blue yesterday after we never really kept in touch. What bothered me is he seemed to *expect* the city as if I was obligated to give it to him and his guild. They wanted it to return to the way it was prior.

Now as I said in the public post, I never had plans for Hel'mut to run it forever... I did however want someone I knew very well, such as a RID or other Imperial to run it. These guys claim to be neutral, but they are mixed, and Ty'e is currently Rebel. Ty'e in particular also seemed upset that I wanted a sort of terms of agreement... such as allowing some RID's to stay there, with one being militia, etc. He said during the meeting, "well this will be OUR city right?"

I have no problem giving it to them without much in return other than a little say in what happens in the city, I'm just worried if they'll stick to any agreements we make. Ty'e even asked me, "what would happen if we were to break the agreement," which implies he might not follow them in any way.

I dunno, we'll see how the Saturday meeting goes.

Something tells me that you shouldn't trust Ty'e. He used to be a pretty good guy, though a little off his rocker. Still, judging from the way he is talking, perhaps he shouldn't be completely trusted.

After hearing that I wouldn't give up the city and if I did I would want money up front. The money wouldn't have to be used for a purchase though it could be a type of long term collateral. These are arbitrary numbers but lets say they give you 50 million as collateral. Now every week you give back 5 million until they have their entire 50 million back. Collateral isn't something I would do, but its an idea.

I just got a feeling that Ty'e is up to something. I don't know what, but getting his own city seems like part of it. I want to know why he expects the city? I mean, what does RID owe him?

Ty'e and his guild sort of expect it I guess because they cant let go of the fact it *used* to be an RP city prior. They didn't like how when Hel'mut took control, most of the events there were centralized around PvP... such as the capture the flag events. That isn't entirely true as Resha still holds the Jalibirds event there, I simply wanted to introduce a mix of RP and PvP in that city.

So Ty'e's guild basically expect it to be an RP city, which is why he feels he and his guild are obligated to run it. I dont know if Ty'e's guild has connections to Gawau or its former residence.

Selling it is a possibility, but its a compromise. If I sell it for credits, Ty'e will think that following any kind of rules is redundant as he technically purchased the city, and its not ours anymore. I also dont know what their attitude would be if I asked for credits. They may consider me exploitative, going against the RP'ers who simply want to make their home there.

I'll see what he says. I guess I can give him a choice by either paying for it completely, and having full control of the city, or not paying, and allow us to have militia, and stuff in the city.

RID's that live there currently are free to stay if they choose. I may just have He'mut build a "suburban" city next to Fort Oasis. It could be a dual city where we can put overflow housing.

Why not just grant him or whoever in his guild residency and then tell them that if they want it, they can try to get it. Tehre is an election system in place for a reason. If they want to take control and run it as an RP city, then they should have comeone from their guild run for mayor. Hell, make an RP event out of the whole election just to make some fun out of it. Then, if Hel'mut happens to lose, you can go about your marry way of creating some burbs for Fort Oasis.

Seems to me like that is the best and fairest way. Then Ty'e and his groupies can figure out if the Farpointers even want the city to be RP or whatever else they have in mind for the city. However, to expect it to be handed over them is kind of uncalled for.

Also, feel free to have a RID run against you if you don't want Hel'mut in charge of it all.

I say RID keeps fairpoint and starts buying up more cities. Nothing wrong with a little real estate business on the side.

I might just pass on the offer, and decide to give the city to a RID in time.

i dont understand why they need control of the city to rp in it. but then again i dont understand why people waste their time rp'ing. but i dont think you should just give them the city. i have lived there a long time and like it the way it is. besides if you wanted to sell it it would go for a ton of money, ive seen cities go for 900 mil. it might be less now with the purge but look it still has a shuttle and its going to be hard as hell to get that statis with a new city when there is not a lot of new players comming in to the game. imo f him he is probaly going to sell it him self when he gets it or break any promise that he makes to you

Lexx, Please, please do not turn this city over. You have saved the city and its history. Farpoint (The main city) Is gone because some idiot got control of the city and destoryed it. I will help you in any way you need help, if you will keep control of the city. House-pack up starts Friday so all the dead houses in the city will be gone and active players can be brought in. I trust you and I know you will always do right by the community. I will even offer my help in hosting events in the city and to make it a fun place for all. We can work together on this. :D I am in no means calling Ty an idiot by the way. After what happened in Farpoint I just strongly feel Farpoint Valley is safe under your mayorship. Beside you the only other person I would consider voting on getting the city would be Ramona. I know both you and her would perserve the city and its history.

Well I appreciate that comment :)

I would be more than happy to organize events in the city after the purge. I plan to get a mall and some more citizens into the city after the purge. As time goes on, I may consider transfering the city to someone I fully trust, so I'll always keep a close eye on it.

I never really understand what happened in Farpoint City, but what exactly happened there?

Anyways, for now I'll hold onto the city carefully. In the meantime, I'm gonna get some RID's to blow up some homes tommorow!
