Separate Tag

I love RID. Hands down I think RID has some of the best OOC personalities I've had the fortune to meet. Unfortunately, I do see the RID tag as being an obstacle to RID's role-play expansion. Because of prior drama, I feel it is necessary for RID's RP division to have a separate tag. the RID tag exists for OOC interaction, while the ARCOM (133rd Special Missions CO) would exist for all of RID's RPers. This is akin to the days of olde where rival guilds had separate tags for their crafters and ents to prevent guild-war griefing.
I say this because RID's RP will never get off the ground under her current tag, regardless of any spin I can give it, positive or otherwise. I respect your wishes Lexx, but I really must push for this alternative.
What are your thoughts on RID's RP status? Where do you see this going? Where do you want this to go? I made a commitment to help RID's RP get off the ground, not become RID's sole RPer.
EDIT: More to the point, how can we expect to succeed (supposing RID's reputation is sterling, which it isn't) when our newest forum member has the handle "Nastygas"? How can any organization recover from this?

Separate Tag, Separate Guild.
It's honestly your choice Jathox, not mine. If you cannot see RP working in RID then it won't work.
Form ARCOM, but it's absolutely naive to think it will have any relation to RID, anymore than Six-T or I-O-I.
Obviously if it were up to me I would prefer to build up RP here, and I've offered help in this but I do not know where to begin if we do not communicate about these sort of things. I think it's rather silly to suggest that the absolute core of the problem is a mere tag. A tag? I know people are shallow, but are they really that shallow? I'd like to think not, but one thing is certain. People, including yourself, say they respect RID, and unless they are lying, then I think there are greater solutions to deal with than a tag.
As I say, if ARCON were formed, it would be a separate, autonomous guild altogether, simply because there are not enough players in SWG to partition amongst two entirely different, yet somehow related "sister guilds."
As for the newest forum-handle. I cannot say I particularly like it, but it doesn't have much do with anything. That's not his name in-game anyways, and I don't even think he plays anymore.

I understand. Unfortunately, this community is making it clear that the RID tag will be forever stained. /sigh
I think I will go ahead with the plan to tag the 133rd under its own banner as long as I can be on good terms with RID OOCly, because that is very important to me.
I think even Amodeus before he dropped out of game was thinking more to the point of RID's RP being un-revivable for the moment as he was keen to try and merge with 6T. This did not go forward because 6T wants storm commandos and storm commandos only. Whereas, I just want to play a unit of the Empire's "regular guy" soldiers. His "V-Day" ultimatum that he sent me was to have an action plan to this effect by Valentine's Day (V-Day).
I would still like to remain with my access to RID's forums if you'd allow that. I'd also like to continue to try and up-keep Outpost Kappa while Amodeus is gone. I will do everything in my power to ensure that that city and its legacy lives on and that it's built into a sterling RP hub.
And it's not fully the RID tag so much as it being a mixed guild that will make it hard to succeed a second time. While many RPers, including myself, enjoy the OOC game, many are hesitant to include OOC players in their PA's ranks because of the inherent difficulties that can arise. I don't think that every OOC player in RID should have to abide my a huge, exhaustive list of rules regarding IC and OOC behavior, but that's exactly what would have to happen.
I feel as if I'm going about this the right way, albeit with a heavy heart. You're a good man, Lexx, and I'd love for our OOC friendship to continue regardless of where our tags may take us.
EDIT: I will say that the RP I had with our scout and CompForce unit was awesome and I will treasure that experience always, it truly is unfortunate the state this game/community is in. 5 or 6 years ago, a lot of the BS wouldn't have mattered.

Well of course this has no affect on my dealings with you personally and I have no problem with us continuing to communicate.
I know you're a good guy who cares a great deal about RID. It's just a shame things have to be like this, but I guess that's the reality of the situation.
Perhaps RID was trying to be something it's not -- I don't know. Either way, it's an untenable situation, as Farik said last summer. There's no ignoring the realities that a mixed RP/OOC organization will be accepted in a true RP community.
