Got that off your chest now? Heh.
Well yes, he made it quite apparent to me over recent weeks that he didn't get along with you. I'm not going to pick sides, but it seemed quiet apparent that the two of you could not be in the same guild together. Lets just hope the drama ends here.
I agree Red-dawn could have done more to improve the overall direction of RID. He did personally help fellow RID members, but simply giving people credits or items is not neccesarily an indicator of leadership.
You could say I was being too lenient, but I'm not sure what more I could have done. In private conversations with him, I've always defended you Arev, and told Red-dawn that if he felt RID was not right for him, it would ultimately be his decision to leave. When he complained to me about the direction RID was taking, I kept reminding him that he had a position of considerable power in RID. He was a Councilman, and could always have stepped up to change things. I even told him on a number of occassions that if being a Councilman was taking too much of a toll on him, he should consider stepping down as Councilman, and just focus on running FNS and enjoying SWG. I kept telling him that it's not worth getting riled up over everything, and that he should take a moment to re-evaluate things. I also told him that you (Arev) would be here to stay, and that if he simply couldn't get along with you, then there wasn't much I could do.
But his decision to leave was no surprise to me. In fact, I'm surprised he didn't leave to join TAG weeks, if not months ago.
I had hoped that differences could have been sorted out in a meeting, but that meeting never took place. Heck, it probably wouldn't have made a difference. In my naiive and idealistic world, anything is possible, but I doubt a small meeting would've solved much
But what more can be said? The loss of Red-dawn is still sad. I considered him a good friend, having worked with him in the past; but like with other members I've known in RID, nothing lasts forever.
As far as Fort Nar Shadda is concerned, publicly it will still be considered an affiliate of RID. Most of our attention will be focused towards Fort Oasis and Fort Keen, but I will mention the existence of a Fort on Dantooine to new members -- should they want to live there. I would like to see Kurke's vision of Nar Shadda continue to live on, and I'm sure it will. Red-dawn says that a RID citizen can be designated as a liason between FNS and RID, so at least we have that much. Red-dawn insists that RID should just focus on Fort Oasis and Fort Keen now, but I've told him that we'd be there to help, should FNS hit a snag.
But that's all there is to it I suppose.
