Recent removals

Hi

There's a lot of removal from non-quality members. WE know they aren't really good mates but for other members who don't play often it might disturb them and for actual members seing that the quality isn't really good could get them go in another PA.

For the next recruit I suggest to be MORE selective and really read the application. If the application isn't really good and the interview isn't good I suggest to pass over that application.

Thank you

P.S.: Lexx is it possible to put the council member forum name's in an other color than yellow? i.e.: Like the official forum in RED :)

Can you elaborate more on who you're speaking of? To be fair, it's hard to determine a recruit's personality by an application and interview. Maybe we should implement a trial process?

I'm just going to say this once, I think Jare had a very flaky personality. MailGuy (I interviewed him) didn't want to go and thanked us for our time.

I'll see if I can change the forum tag colors, or something similar for Councilman.

As for your concerns, they are valid, though I'm not sure much can be done.

Jare's application looked solid, he seemed very appreciative of the guild at first. I guess the only warning sign was that his relatively young age raised some red flags. I first grew a bit suspicious of him when he made an obviously political signature for himself on this forum. I don't care about anyones political affiliation, but since it can raise arguments I told him to remove it. He did so quickly though, and apologized which I appreciated.

I guess Arev's right, he was just a little flaky. I don't think he handled the Urkan incident very well. He immediately threatened to remove himself one minute, said all things were "cool" the next, and once again removes himself to join some other PA. Ultimately though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It was really the first bit of drama since Bovive and his crew left RID.

We could use this an excuse to set up a trial period, but then we get back to the problem where it takes too long for us to find new recruits.

I'd like to hear others input though.

DING, DING, DING! Give this man a cigar!

Forum applications helped alot in allowing a public forum for RID and non-RID members to interact and get to know potential recruits. However, it made getting new members that much more difficult. Have to register on the forums, get approved, post application, and then schedule an interview. That's alot of work compared to our peers which can simply be, "Can I join your PA?" "Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to join?" <exchanges> "Ok, you're in."

If we made it any more difficult, we would run into some trouble. At least now the drama can kept to a minimum. It happens, but, thankfully, it doesn't happen very frequently.

And Lexx, to be fair, Jare's drama was nowhere near Bovive & Co.'s level of drama.

I never said it was huge drama, just our first "bit" of drama since the whole Bovive thing :P

But I didn't write this post to take away any credibility from Daiho. He certainly has valid concerns, and there may be ways to address them aside from initiating a lengthy trial process. Instead we can maybe look deeper into their applications, and ask a few questions within their application thread to get to know them better.

Right now the application sections are Basic Information, Character Information, and Personal Information, those three are good for recording keeping and should stay as is. Perhaps a new section, Contributions --Why do you want to join RID? What do you hope to gain by joining RID? How would you contribute to the PA as a whole? How would contribute to helping your fellow Defenders?

Maybe we should share what we talk about with recruits. What do you ask them? The above questions are the exact ones that I use personally, speaking as a former PA leader.

Please don't come back on this. I loved those guys and EVEN if you don't like them it makes me mad when you talk about this.

My 1st idea was just to look if it's possible to be more caution when we get a new recruit. Maybe adding more specific questions, like Arev suggest, can help us to do a better work.

P.S.: Please make my name RED rofl

I think the Jare/Urkan incident was just a personality clash plus a lack of patience on both sides.

As for Jare removing himself, I think he knew about his old guild for some time and chose the drama as an opportunity to leave. I'm speculating here, but I bet he felt bad about saying "Hey, thx guys, but I'm going to another Pa!," so he used the drama incident as an excuse.
