Rogrymi for RID Pilot Squadron Leader

Rogrymi helped considerably in my grind to my second Ace. While busting up the 30 Rebel fighters last night, he asked who the Pilot Leader was. I answered Erougn, but admitted he isn't on very often, nor is he very active anymore. Rogrymi, on the other hand, is frequently online, but not very involved in PA activities. He's not registered on forums*, rarely in GuildChat, and, by his own admission, deletes most messages unless they pertain to "events" (I'd assume he means Heroics) and BBs. And he's a former RPer (was turned off by the god-moding, but may get back into it).

I asked him, if the position were to open or another be created, his duties would be 1) Keep RID active in Space, 2) Plan Space events, 3) Help new pilots out. He said that wouldn't be problem, the only thing he asks in return to not be critical of him during the first few weeks on the job. In return, I specified that he would have to register on the forums, pop his head into GuildChat more often, and read guild messages. :)

The only issue we have with this is "What about Erougn?" It wouldn't be fair to make Rogrymi #2, when he's more active than Erougn. So, we either 'demote' Erougn, or make them co-Leaders. I should clarify that this is not another Council position, merely a Coordinator. So, the term "Leader" should be taken lightly--it's based on the in-game title Erougn currently has.

I would appreciate the support of the Council, and the approval of His Sexxiness to grant Rogrymi this responsibility. He's a good guy, responsible, and very helpful if you just ask.

Thanks!

*He didn't say how long he's been in RID, simply "a LONG time". Needless to say, it during the pre-forum application time.

To get a better position he needs to more active on guild chat. He joined us like 3 weeks ago. Maybe he's shy but I think we can't promote someone in that short amount of time.

That can't be right. One, he admitted he was with RID a long time. Two, it's impossible for him to have joined three weeks ago as he never submitted an application (he's pre-forum application, like you and I). He registered on forums last night.

Also, it's not a 'promotion' in a Councilman's position, or a Captain or Commander, but merely a Coordinator, someone to organize events. It's not an 'officer' position, but merely a go-to contact for new members/pilots.

Edit: I asked him when he joined and he said it was 1.5-2 years ago.

He was in RID for a long time, but has only just recently returned. I'll say more on the subject later on :)

i have only spoke to rog in guild chat last night he doesn't say very much in guild chat box ?

We all went on heroics together with him yesterday but i have to say last night is the first time in game i have met him.

it cant hurt for a person in the guild to help others in space but I agree with Daiho people should become more involved in the guild if they wish to become a bigger part of it. I always love to go on guild activities even if it means i get to yank lexx's chain a little bit more.

My own opinion of a few of the guild members

Lexx - is a great leader and teasing him is always fun for me to do. i like the fact lexx has enough of a sense of humour to have real fun and not seem like a strict guild dictator, he always listens and thinks before replying and sometimes i think i can here his brain whirring over guild chat. He always helps and takes part in even the stuff i find boring to help people with.

Daiho - provides a feeling in swg i i haven't had in a long time of playing it whenever i meet him he is the reason you can walk into a guild building in game and feel like its been decorated better than the games designers. Daiho always finds time for you if you chat to him and he is a great mayor type person he cares what happens to the guilds home and he looks after it well. He is always busy in game and i don't think i have ever heard him type that he is bored. He reminds me of the people who used to play when i started playing star wars galaxies and i think he is great.

Arev - always has a opinion and also doesn't hold back what he wants to say. Sometimes i feel silly in front of him, if you know what i mean. I find it hard to say no to Arev too because i don't like to upset him. Arev is passionate about his city. He even has a statue of himself there holding his spear :D scary lol . Arev says what he means which is a good thing because you always know what he thinks and means and dont feel like he is ever going to hold back what he's thinking about you and then tell someone else about it behind your back. Arev nearly always helps people when they ask for his help bin guild chat this is something i have noticed even when im busy in game.

i could continue with my opinions of people but i think you can see what i mean Rog i just dont know anything about and i think daiho feels the same way. Rog did try to organise the heroic last night i think so i do think he wants to be more of a leader. I like the fact the guild is getting much busier and its a lot more exciting to log on to see what's happening in game these days with new enthusiastic people in the guild.

Okay, I guess I should offer my input now.

I like Rog, he's always been a nice guy. My first impression of him was that he never really got involved with guild activities. He would usually form heroic groups, but invite people outside the guild. Fortunately, he's lately been involving more RID's in his group. I think after meeting you Arev, he's started to grow a greater respect for the guild. He's been saying that those outside the guild have been saying good things about RID, and that it makes him proud to be a member.

If Rogrymi would like to get more involved in the space side of guild coordination, I say by all means he should get involved. I don't think Erougn would be upset -- in fact I think he would be happy to finally see another member show interest in space.

He won't hold a Council position, like Arev said, but if he wants to form groups or events with the guild, I see no harm. He definitely does need to get more involved in guild chat, but the good news is he just registered on our forums. So hopefully this is a sign that he's becoming more comitted to the guild.

Will Rogrymi' receive a fancy new title in-game?

I'll at least give him one of the pre-made guild ranks the Devs implemented, so that he can wear it over his head. I typically have no problem issueing out those type of titles.
