Boosting Activity

So I was talking with Daiho earlier.
We both agreed that we should work together as a Council and as a guild to boost activity within RID.
What we need are evenings where there are enough members online to fill at least one decent group, and have some others on the side.
Most of all, we need more friendly members to keep others company in guild chat, and boost our image as a guild.
Indeed, Daiho and others are right that this will be a challenge. Many active players have already joined guilds.
Fortunately, we aren't some random start-up guild. We are a guild which has been around for nearly 6 years. If we remain determined, we should be able to find friendly members to raise our activity numbers.
We should do our best to intercept players transferring to Starsider from another server. Usually they want to find a guild when they transfer here. Recruiting transfer-players is usually the best way to recruit unguilded yet skilled/mature players.
So what's everyone suggestions or comments about this?
I'm thinking we should work together to pursue a more aggressive recruitment strategy. I'm not fond of "stealing" people from other guilds, but we need to let players know why they should join us.
Aside from our lack of numbers, there are not too many detrimental qualities with RID. We've removed most of the trouble-makers, leaving an overall friendly member base, most of whome are adept at their profession. Still, lack of numbers alone can be a deal-breaker for many potential recruits. Why join RID when you can join a larger guild?
In any case, I updated the recruitment post on the Starsider forums. If you have an SWG Forum username, try to promote our guild there as well.
