Petition to Allow Recruiting

Ok sounds kinda stupid in the topic. I'm gonna keep this short. I think the Executive Council should have rights to approve a forum member to post an app and conduct the interview and add them. My reasoning is this: You get someone hooked and then tell them they have to wait. They may feel blown off. A car salesman doesn't offer you the car and then tell you to wait a day or two for processing, or you buy elsewhere. I have lost a few recruits because of this, and potentially will right now in-game. Thoughts? Perhaps after recruited a second interview with Lexx, like a post-recruitment interview?

Ok I'm doing a trial test on this, so if you don't like it suck my balls! Errr...I mean, let me know. We really need to laxx our recruiting efforts. I will send an in-game email with explanation.

Just to clarify, you're requesting that upon posting an application, an Executive Council member reserve the right to conduct an interview immediately?

I believe the only hangup to this is that Lexx as Supreme Prime Head Administrator has to individually approve each new and every new member to these boards. I think that is where we lose members is the delay between registering and then posting and then conducting an interview. The other day, you sent a guy to me on Verantis, he never registered. I've sent out that message to a couple others over the past month, never registered. Is the problem the online registration? No. It's a necessity, one that d'avid and I had a debate over the other day in guild chat.

Long story short, while I don't necessarily agree with the rationale, I agree that this is an acceptable change to help streamline new membership.

I agree, some people will just NOT register and I would not allow them access to RID. I guess I recommend this because frankly Lexx has limited play time. I mean, he is in college and the rest of us lazy bums have real jobs and learned to slack off and play SWG a long time ago. I'm not trying to steal power to recruit, but maybe fast-track it with a backup from Lexx after the actual recruiting is done.

Edit: Oh sorry Arev, I think I did not address your main concern. I think what you are saying is that the problem may be that people do not want to register on the forums. I can TOTALLY understand this, some people are NOT forum people. Hell getting Arramen on the forums was a feat and he is an Executive Council Member (and a damn good one!). Some people do not have the time for forums and that is understandable. So should forum registration be a pre-req or a post 1 month post-req or even at all? Interesting question, meditate on this I will.

So Tenvik and I interviewed Mawro. He is a 15 y/o male that is actually very mature. I went ahead and accepted him into the guild (no fault to Tenvik, I take full responsibility). He wants to post an app but cannot because he does not have rights. I figured this was a great one-time trial of how to recruit someone into the guild. Let's face it, people are joining other guilds a LOT faster than ours and we need to make it easier to join. That's my opinion.

Na, I'm sorry, I don't think I made my point clear to begin with.

But, yes, the crux of issue itself, I believe, is forum registration because I can't think of a single application Lexx has declined since we shifted to this form. Hopefully when his Sexxiness gets back on, he can elaborate on the forum mechanics and registration process.

Very good point Arev. I also think that a person can be felt out a lot better during an in-game interview than a forum post to see if they are an ass-hat or not.

Maybe we should have a sit-in then? Forum rights for the noobies!

I'm going to disagree with you here. From the people that I've talked to, I found that most of the non-RPers attempted to retain their old PAs post-transfer; examples: ISOC, ICM, -PI- (which uses incorrect Latin), and SD-O. On the other hand, RP PAs disbanded upon transferring and very few were recreated post-transfer. After the first couple days, I realized this membership boost that we hoped for wasn't going to happen.

I do have to agree with you, but I am referring to new players or returning players that have no guild alliance. Part of me says if they do not have the patience to wait they are not worth it. The other part says we need more players. My point is, we need to make it easier for players to join. I know that I didn't join a guild on POTBS because they didn't answer me after two days, and I am patient. Nobody wants to feel that they are joining an inactive guild or one that is not going to acknowledge them. Hell Lexx even deleted my registration TWICE before I joined RID. Shame shame on Lexx!

It was merely a test. His Sexxiness does not make mistakes.

Regardless of the details, I do agree that we need streamline recruitment, and I support this request.

Thanks Arev. I'm not out to change all the guidelines but trying to make it easier. Like in business as they say, never make it hard for the customer to give you money :) Any suggestions welcome!!!
