We need to change public applications

Ok here is what I am thinking. I send an applicant over here to post an app but they can't because they havn't been approved as a member. But anyone publically can view all these apps. Instead lets change it so public can post an app and only members can view apps. Then we don't approve a person as a member on the forums until they are a member in the guild.

I'm not sure I quite understand, can you go into greater detail?
The Public Section used to not require registration. You'd be able to hop on these boards and just freely post as a "Guest." I'd have kept it that way, but the amount of spam bots advertising their wares was obscene. So I changed it so the Public Section was publically viewable, but still required registration.
In additional, I would also like to note that unless I've heard of the person, I won't know that applicants aren't spam-bots. Every day I have to clear literally over a 100 spam bots, since they keep trying to register. Often, at least one of them will be a legitimate applicant who I just never heard of.
So I agree that there's some kinks with the current system that need to be worked out, but explain more. My brain cannot compute

Aha, I forgot about all the spam bots. You can pretty much ignore my suggestion
