A Review of the Council
Moderator:Lexx Yovel
Hey Guys,
I am by no means ranting, but I wanted to point out something pretty valid here. Since we have started the Council the only thing I have done is invite alts. Of course we have discussed certain trouble members and of course we try to ensure things run smoothly on a regular basis, but really as a whole the Council hasn't done much. We actually have not even had a meeting, and the Executive Lounge seems to stay fairly quiet. So I was wondering what you guys thought of that, and what you think we can do to spice things up. Also Zorb may not be the best replacement for Corvallon while he is gone, Zorb hasn't logged on in some time. Should we look for another?

Puff Puff Well as far as trying to do stuff I sent out a guild wide mail as to what is the best time to run instance since I want to get the guild more into instance running and I recently posted a date to start it with filling in the empty spots needed with Sunder folks as well as peeps from Friends list and such so that it what I am doing personally, just have been trying to get a little more guild participation in events and such.
And as Counsel members I view us as a extension of Lexx's authority and we help try and make things run smooth, even if things are not really being planed we are still here to handle situations that come up when Lexx isn't around that would effect the guilds name and reputation such as it was with Tez when he was cursing out other players who didn't want to pay his prices. and improving guild relations with others such as it was with me the other day when I went to Restuss and did some heroics with Sunder and XFOR to me that is a big help for Lexx so yeah we are handy to have around even tho not a whole lot has happened since we became Counsel members.
As far as not posting in the officers lounge, there really hasn't been much to report I assumed that the officers lounge was for issues for us as officers and lexx to discuss out of ear shot of the members to resolve issues that effect the guild. That and I see Arramen, Lexx and you Bov in game on a daily basis, and I chat with you all then =)

Well said. I agree that we are extensions of Lexx. (Lexx's Hand?) The Council is meant to be the exemplars of RID. Yes, we mediate and keep an eye on other members, but we also organize, lead, motivate and various other roles and one of these roles is example for the rest.
So, all of you are expected to be like Corvallon or die.

Indeed, I think we need to get another Executive meeting put together.
As for recruitment, I personally have no problem with the Executive Council taking part in recruitment campaigns. The problem is that only I can activate the usernames of potential recruits on these forums, so that they can post their application. Basically the Executive Council can find people interested in joining RID, send them info on how to apply, and then wait for them to post the application and attend an interview. At that point, it doesn't matter too much who recruits the person, but it usually happens to be me (since they're recruited right after we interview them).
Honestly though, I don't see any problem with the Council sponsoring potential recruits at their own discretion.
As for events, well, we should just re-strengthen the communications between the Council members and the rest of RID. Events are pretty much something anyone can form whenever they want, but they need to maintain effective communications with everyone to keep people in the loop.
Most of all though, the Executive Council is as powerful as they wan't to be. While I may give them specific responsibilities to fulfill, I basically give the Council free reign when it comes to forming events, finding potential recruits, and communicating with other guilds. We may just need to do another Council meeting to sort of redefine our priorities.
Lastly, things have indeed been quiet lately, perhaps explaining why the Executive forum hasn't been used much. Most would view the quiet atmosphere as stagnation, but I view it as stability, and there's no better time than when it's stable to set goals.
What kind of goals should we establish by the way? Perhaps that's something we can talk about in a separate post soon.

I think it would be worthwhile to concentrate on alliances with dedicated Imperial guilds. We Imps need all the help we can get. Aliksander's guild would probably be interested. Talk to Nephrite,Xenea, Tuskano about that.
Hrmm, who else? ...thinking... ! LOSS is one to chat with. Vesus, Vesai, Rain.
All I have for now. *puff puff*

Good relations with CCXX, I have. Speak to them (if someone hasn't already), I will. It is worth mentioning though that CCXX is a full-time RPvP PA. So, while they enjoy PvP and high-end PvE (all members have 5-set jewelry sets and have completed the Imperial Themepark), they are still very RP-oriented. This must be taken into consideration when meeting with them.
Regarding LOSS, you all do realize that Vesus/Vesai else are alts to Inconsessus (sp?) who left RID on bad terms? I don't recommend letting RID be the first PA to offer their hand out to her when she already bit it once.

I didn't know about the LOSS deal, but will keep that in mind. I don't think we have talked with CCXX but if you want to see what they think I'm all for it. If we did create an alliance perhaps we could get a RP ground rules FAQ for our members.
