How do you think we could get rid of credit spamers....
Moderator:Lexx Yovel
Everyone know the very hated Credit spamers and the Very disliked newb. Who follows you around wanting to group with you. Well we all know the reason price's are so high is cuz of these newbs. It is also the reason why Entertainers are so bitchy. Alot of there buisness is getting driven away from your local Newbs on TAT. Well I had A couple idea's on how to rid SWG of the spamers, And keep the newbs at bay. But I would like to hear what everyone in the guild has to say. Before I posted in the SWG forums. After hearing what everyone has to say I would like to start a Poll to vote on the best Idea.
Cost of a can of soda pop and the time taken to type this out - less then 1 rock!!!
Cost of this forum post - 3k in rocks!!
Cost of removing credit spammers and keeping newbs under control - Priceless
But you can tip me some rocks if you want!!!

Well I voted for Lexx is cool, but I think I have some ideas concerning credit spammers... not so sure on how to handle newbies but I'll get to that later I guess.
First, there are several ways to do this.
1.) Dont allow anyone under CL 10 from using macros... period.
2.) Dont allow anyone to use macros with the words, "www" and "credits" in the same message.
3.) Allow players to kill spammers... just like we were able to during that one Dev event.

I agree, something needs to be done about credit spammers. WoW had the same problem, and their solution was that noone under lvl 5 could use tells. Also, there is now the option to report someone for spam. While a single report they don't do anything about, if they see a pattern (several reports for spam in a period of a few minutes) then they usually start with a short term ban, then a long term ban.
This seems to have really curtailed alot of the spam from in game mail and tells from credit (gold) spammers.
Lexx, your ideas seem good, though I would be suprised (plesantly) if they implemented the 3rd one you mentioned...though it would be fun hunting them down
