Rumors over latest Combat v.3.4.1.999

Been hearing some rumors of people quitting en masse once again because of this new "weapons retrofit" system, but it just might be the same old crybitchmoans of the usual anti-CU/NGE/anychanges nitwits that have found new life with the new changes.

Any of it true?

My motherboard died on me last week, and I can't play SWG, or any 3d game, on this backup board I found in the closet (memory timing issues resulting in too much artifacting and video lag... hell, I might miss Restuss too), so I haven't tried any of the new combat yet.

Most of the pvpers like it. The rebs invaded the imphl city the day it went live and there was a 20v20 battle. It was fun, combat lasted for a good amount of time, wasn't too long. The only downside was I was hitting 20s with my rifle.

Interesting. Just to clarify, I'm reading this from non-SWG media sources. Some of these anti-NGE haters just cannot let it go, even after all this time. Its pretty pathetic the way they still go on and on and on. I didn't like the game pre-CU, thought it sucked and quit that version never to come back, so I sure as hell can't understand why they loved it so. I guess the all-risk all reward of an alpha/God class is more appealing than game developers think, eh?

Good to hear about a Player City raid. Thats one of the "old days" features that I miss the most. We never hung out in Mos Eisley to PVP, hell only noobs were to be found there. Sometimes you'd find a firefight in Theed, or maybe even Bestine, but most the time it was a Base raid or a PCity raid. Hell, no one ever fought in Anchorhead either anymore.

Wish I could try this new system out, but I start artifacting almost immediately with this current motherboard. Think I'll miss Restuss, just come back around middle July or August.

Thanks for the replies, people had me wondering.

Yeah, we have T-shirts. Mine says I'm with stupid and it points to Waucod. Waucod's says he is with stupid and it points at me. It's an endless circle of stupidity...

heh well you two are not playing by choice, well Waucod due to your age it might not be by choice. But my absence is not by choice right now. My computer cannot run SWG using this motherboard. I barely get by running Everquest, but I still have to reboot after an hour or two.

With SWG, my CPU is currently jumping from 39C to 56-60C, and the artifacting is damn near immediate. Its not an overheat issue, as my particular CPU is rated at ~70C max and I can log into the game, type /flushgraphics fullreset and BAM, I am so artifacted I have to reboot.

Its just not a motherboard for gaming. Something is defective with the AGP and SDRAM bussing, I can't narrow it down further than that.
