Any way to improve luck in loot drops?

I'm about ready to quit playing altogether. My luck in loot drops has been about zero from my first day ingame, and is still disgusting.

I've done sher kar 3 times, all 3 times have gotten basically shit as loot. I camp bs and get zilch. I do the dwb and get nothing but one stat modded armor and dented cases.

Seems like every other day I'm seeing one person or another saying "Hey, I just killed my first BS and got a jetpack base!" or "Hey, I just my 10th sher kar run and now have 5 orh's.", and it's really getting to me. I'll spend hours and hours and never have anything to show for it.

Any tips or tricks to getting better stuff? And please, do not tell me to keep at it. I've been at it for months now and have had it up to here with keeping at it.

There are really no tips other than to just keep at it.. All of us have camped places for months.. Ive tried getting mando armor for almost 2 years now and I finally got the piece I needed a few months ago. Although it prolly doesnt matter, I find better loot when im in a group.

Maybe the group thing does work. I forgot about this one time I was grouped with anoth player in the kubaza beetle lair and I got one of the glowy components that makes some bracer. That was really the only time I've ever gotten a "good" item. Too bad noone is ever really on when I run the sher kar cave. I usually do it weekday mornings, like 8am.

And wow, 2 years to get parts. I'd have tossed in the towl long before that...lol. You have perseverence!

I've gotten one ORS schem in over 20 runs. I got my first GLC drop aftera week of farming Droid Factory 1 every 3 hours. Do the math. Jet Base? Spent well over a month of play hours already trying to get one to drop, about to put together my 3rd full suit of BS parts. I've never gotten a Black Master Cloak to drop for me, but after my 10th HK run, I looted a Brown that I deferred to Eru. I've seen a single WG Engine drop from HK in about 15 runs. We have guildies still trying to get that Engine drop after 20+ runs.

Groups have nothing to do with loot frequency. Farming takes time, farming rares takes a lot of time and patience. Sometimes people get lucky. That bracer part you looted was something I chased for 20+ trips to Beetle Cave. Twice. You can bitch when you've done Sher Kar for the 15th time with no ORS drop. That's about when mine dropped for me. You're always willing to quit too easily, even with learning your professions. Getting good at your class and getting good loot takes time and a lot of hard work. People get lucky sometimes, but ask them and they have some other item they've been working on for eons.

Szul, you know I have no patience. I'll just have to do without, cuz you know I'm not going to re-kill something more than two or three times to get something. (yes, I want an "I Win" button).

I'm just generally put out by most things ingame anymore. I'm not even sure why I just paid for another month.

And after testing the new combat system my time may be up anyway. It completely sucks, imho.

heh yea, I know, thats why I didn't pull punches in my reply. :D

Single player games have built in cheats, go with those. My wife uses them all the time with her games, she can't stand MMO time sinks. MMOs will make you work for anything and everything, its a time sucker that keeps them in business. If 100,000 players will farm for 3 months to get a rare item drop, thats guaranteed cash flow for them. Toss in a bunch of available rares and, there you go.
