Test Center Update Notes, April 12th - Player Bounty System

*** Blue Frogs will be on Test Center to facilitate testing. The locations of the frogs will be posted on the Test Center launchpad.

Publish 28 was delayed a bit so that we could change the PvP Bounty Hunting feature based on the community's feedback. The new system is now on Test Center.

Here is how the new Bounty Hunting will play:

* Any player in the game can declare "Special Forces" and then engage in Player-vs-Player combat.

* As players engage in PvP battles, they will accumulate credits on their bounty.

* If a player defeats enough enemies in PvP combat, they will have enough credits on their bounty to show up on the bounty hunter terminals located throughout the galaxy.

* Any bounty hunter can then take an anonymous mission from the bounty hunter terminal (bounty hunters will not know the names of specific characters by taking these missions).

* Bounty hunters will then use their bounty hunting tools (bounty hunting droids, etc.) and prowess to track down their mission target.

* If a bounty hunter successfully kills their mission target, the bounty hunter will earn all of the bounty credits their target.

o Any Bounty Hunters who might also have the same target as their mission will be notified that the target is no longer valid when the mission target is slain.

* If the bounty hunter is killed by the target of his/her bounty mission, the hunter fails the mission and will need to get a new mission. In this case, the target keeps the bounty on his/her head and other bounty hunters may continue to hunt the target.

Additional Comments:

* If a character is killed in PvP combat, the player may also specifically place additional bounty credits on the person that killed them in combat (20,000 credit minimum).

o A player cannot place bounty credits if their death is the result of a duel.

o A player cannot place bounty credits if their death is the result of a Bounty Hunter fulfilling a bounty mission on the player.

* Bounty Hunters will also earn a small amount of credits for completing the mission on top of their bounty credits.

* A bounty hunter cannot access PvP Bounty missions until they are level 22 (the level at which they gain droid tracking), and players will not appear on the PvP bounty list until their character is at least level 20 or above.

* Players cannot have a bounty placed on their character by another player until they are level 20 or above.

* Bounty credits will not continue to accumulate by killing the same character over and over in combat (to try and drive up a player's PvP rating).

1. So let me get this right, the bounty hunter can have help when killing his mark up to 3 people, but the mark can get no help.

2. If the mark is SF the bounty hunter can gain help from any opposing SF people. But the mark if SF can gain no help from allied SF people again the bounty hunter.

3. If the bounty hunter wins he gets the credits and then some, if the mark wins he gets nothing but stays on the terminals till a bounty hunter does kill him.

4. The bounty hunter gets first strike so he can follow his mark till his mark loses connection, get in a fight and is damaged or just for a laugh pulls out his barc speed and blow the crap out of it getting to destroy it. And all the make can do is run because if he tries to log he will get hit as soon as he sits down, if he tries to play the game he will get hit as soon as his loading or damaged in a fight, and if he tries to run the bounty hunter will hit him either while loading or as he uses a terminal which will mean the mark has a screen blocking his view as he takes damage.

5. Let the Grief wars begin.

1. Yes, but they don't know your name, don't know exactly where you are and they would all have to show up at exactly the same time to know who was hunting the mark.

2. No, all PvP rules would be in effect, so if he was declared SF, then those rules would apply.

3. Yes, but if a person has a bounty, they already engage in PvP. There is no non-consensual PvP.

4. I suppose it's possible, but we aren't talking about the same penalties as there used to be and all involved parties engage in PvP from time to time.

5. PvP is always going to have friction as part of the experience (which is why it has to be consensual).

That's never been the case. You HAVE to be Special Forces and you HAVE to kill another player and they HAVE to put a Bounty on your head.

I think the way it works is that same faction mission arent available on the terminal.

No, you were telling us in game about something to do with if someone kills too many Imperials then the Empire will place a bounty on them.
