What cities are top priority?

Hello RID,

As you probably know, all of the planets that can support cities are filled with ghost towns. Active ones can grow, or even form for that matter.

I want to know what RID Forts you consider top priority. It's proven difficult to hold all these cities, and it may not be neccesary. Fort Oasis is obviously our most important city, and then I would say Fort D'aroo and Fort Leviathen are next in line. Fort D'aroo is placed on a rare piece of real estate, overlapping the Restuss Imperial Base. Fort Leviathen is very nicely designed, and can be a very successful city. I'll get back to these three cities in a moment.

Fort Farpoint Valley is ran by my alt... personally I find the city to be a ghost town... and other than the monthly capture the flag events, it's quite unimportant to have. I would much rather destroy the city and have Hel'mut make a NEW city either as a sister city to Fort Oasis, or somwhere on another planet (I'll make a poll later on this issue). We could make it a part of the capture the flag event, where Fort Farpoint Valley is destroyed by the Rebellion. Of course the city holds "historic" value, which is the only thing that gets in the way... as the RP community that had dealings in that city, may grow upset. I may bring it up with people in Farpoint City (who are still somewhat active).

Then there is Fort Selinor, ran by Apium, and is on Tatooine. The former resisdents of Fort Selinor (formerly just Selinor), didn't want the city, and so it was transfered to Apium. I'll hold on to this city for a bit, but overtime, if it's okay with Apium, we can have Apium run a more active city.

Fort Konohonaha is no longer under our juristiction so to speak. It was at a point but the mayor is inactive. The city is either rank 1 or 2. There is'nt much we can do about this city, but I'd destroy it if I coule.

Fort Knox isn't under RID's juristiction at all.

Fort Aurora on Tatooine is also involved in the capture the flag events, but is ran by a Rebel mayor. We can do much about this city.

Fort Familia on Lok... the mayor is inactive. I'll just leave this city alone for now.

Now back to Fort Oasis, Fort Leviathen, and Fort D'aroo.

For Fort Oasis, we continue recruiting for that as our primary home. Fort Leviathen, we need Takura to win the election. At that point he can recruit new citizens.

As for Fort D'aroo, we need a citizen of Fort D'aroo to run against Avacki... either as a temporary or permanent mayor. If temporary, we have him/her run and win the election, recruit a RID into the city, and have that RID run for the city. I dont want to let go of Fort D'aroo.

What's everyones opinion on this?

No, but what I always wanted was a city on an island... preferably Naboo. Maybe Hel'mut could run that.

And I'll look into selling the city.

rori has a few small islands seperated by small rivers.. back wen i had a house there.. didnt survey the whole planet but maybe we can start selling lots.. still wating on isseles reponse to question about cards .. seems she doesnt log on frequently..(didnt have time to check last friday since i went to see Black Daliah or w/e) IMO naboo is way to populated ...

last year around december i joined MANDO (yess the one with jerekii being leader) and they had a good piece of land W of Talus almost to end of map... it was a pretty good area lots of space.. only prob it was 6km from nearest shuttle

im not sure how it works but how does city lvl increase? #of houses? because we can get a good amt of people to set up and become citizens to make city grow and be able to set a shuttlrport

Fort Selinor is the home of my private estate, the head of all of our(House Auvair) holdings in the outer rim, and the most properous other than Iridonia herself. I don't really want to give it up, besides then I can withdraw from the treasury to pay my maintenance.

City level is dictated by the number of citizens it has. You can also only advance a city one level per week and you cannot skip levels (this is how I remember it at least). And you can only be a citizen of one city at a time. Well, that's how it is supposed to work, but it was bugged back in the day...

thnx.. but do people need to maintain citizens? like if pople have another house in another city and they become citizens of another city... would the max lvl out city loose lvl?

Fort D'aroo is key. Erougn is a master politician and my declared residence is there, so if you need me to, I will run for mayor. I have a lot on my plate for a limited amount of playtime atm, but soon I go on my 4 month vacation and can do more. There is no question about FO, and Leviathan is the third most important (in my humble opinion). I think holding these three is realistic. We have a lot of new RID who can't place a home in FO and we need the three cities for the real estate. That being said, all the cities of RID should be run by mayors who can help people place homes responsibly, and without a lot of delay or bullshit.

In order for a city to maintain a level, it has to maintain a certain number of citizens. If you are a citizen of one city and then declare your citizenship in another city, you remove your citizenship from your previous city. (Like I said, that's how it is supposed to work, but sometimes people would get bugged and it wouldn't remove old citizenships) Now, if a city happened to be have the minimum number of citizens to hold say Rank 3, then when you remove your citizenship the city will lose a rank at the next update (weekly intervals) unless the mayor finds a new citizen to replace you.

The whole kicker is that you can only me a citizen of one city at a time (unless your toon is bugged...). You can have houses whereever you please, but you can only declare your residence in one of them.

Erougn, that'd be perfect. If you could run for election in Fort D'aroo asap, that'd be great.

I agree, keeping three strong cities is key. We can have other Forts, but we need three as actual communities.

We have only cities on Tatooine, Lok, and Rori. So that should answer your question.

And yeah, I know there is Dragons Hold on Corellia. I actually think there is another island that is also large just east of Dragons Hold. It already has a lot of homes (and even a city) I believe.

On Naboo, I think there are islands near the center of the planet large enough, but I'll need to do some scouting.
