Fort Oasis- Now over 100 citizens

Fort Oasis now has 103 citizens and is rising constantly. Once again, I'd like to thank all the citizens of our wonderful city. We will soon be on our way to be the biggest city on Tatooine, and even the galaxy!

Fort Oasis is bringing forth a new row of houses dedicated to large houses. We have also placed statues which mark streets and city POI's, like Mt. Oasis and the Imperial Oasis.

As for the future growth of Fort Oasis, we will be placing a theater AND SF Hospital Base. Once those two structures are placed, Fort Oasis will have every possible structure.

Taverns, and ID Salons were just placed, more and more merchants are also being put in the mall.

Right now, I'm proud to see Fort Oasis becoming one of the best and most active cities on Tatooine.

Keep your eyes peeled for an updated map of Fort Oasis!

Okay, I now have time to explain the map. As you may or may not see, there are some minor things I want changed with the layout. These concern the large houses. If you look at the rows of medium housing near the top left, you can see a large house in the middle of a place that two medium houses fit perfectly. This is my fault, as I gave the owner the "okay." However, I was on a different planet, and I assumed he meant a different location. Now, another problem are those industrial facilities inbetween those two large houses to the far left. Those harvesters take up space in which we could possibly put two more large houses. That row is designed to be dedicated for large houses.

Once the harvesters are clear, we will get the misplaced large in the north into the row, and the large house directly behind the shuttle in the rwo as well. The large house in the far south may be moved, but so far it doesnt conflict with any house placement. Once the large house directly behind the shuttle is moved, we will put our theater there, and possibly some rows of small houses going east to west further downward in a horizontal manner. This will allow us to squeeze in some more citizens. If we need to expand farther downward with small housing, the large house farthest south may join the houses to the left.

Other than that, Fort Oasis is looking well. We also managed to put some houses on high mountain ranges that overlook Fort Oasis. These regions are still in Fort Oasis, but dont hinder its appearance. For example, the scattered mess of houses inbetween the Imperial Oasis and the large houses on the bottom of the map may not look appealing, but in-game they are high, that they dont look bad.

Also, if you look closely, if you look below all the rows of small houses, you might almost see a "circular emptiness" with a small house smack down the middle of it. This is actually a hill with a house on top. Any "voids" you see are no-build zones, and are probably rocky elevation zones.

Btw as i discussed with you earlier lexx, i think it would probably be best if we move all the harvesters, factories, ect out of the city. They can do just as well outside the city boundaries, especially since resources shift it wouldnt matter much anyways to the owners. We could fit in more residents for one, and also no one really wants to have a house near a big factory or a noisy, ugly looking harvester...

Also i have noticed there are some large houses, but also a few medium and small houses in primary areas of the city, i.e. around city hall for one, like that "fortune teller house"..i dont know what that is about, but something more useful and important to the city should be near the prime structures such as the city hall in my opinion. (garage, theatre, w/e)

This is a good idea, as land in Fort Oasis is too precious to use for this. Harvesters dont really have any bonus for being in the city (except taxes, but if harvesters were replaced by houses, we'd get more).

Lol, we already have a garage Xanus, cant you find it? :P :lol:
As for the theater, once Yjdeg's large house is redeeded in the south, we will put a theater there. The things like the tavern and the parlor were the only things we can fit in that certain section of the city (trust me :P ), and any other space that is there, will be used for other RP stuff like "hotels," etc. Besides, those structures still count as a citizens, so it's no loss :wink:

However, once the harvesters in the south are moved, that land can be used for mediums (which is their designated location anyways). Pretty soon I will create a map of what Fort Oasis will be. The map wont be as detailed as the top one, but will show the general idea of what I want.

Okay, now if you look below, you can see a rushed (very rushed) map of what I want Fort Oasis to be. Basically, I just bothered to show how the rows of larges will work, and how the houses going horizontally will work.

Upon closer observing, I noticed I made a mistake in the map above. The rows of houses going left to right will be moved farther down. This will give room for the theater, which is being placed directly behind the shuttle.
