I just took a look inside the Fort Oasis mall, and there's now only two vendors left -- one operated by my alt, and another operated by Quif, a former RID member (AKA O-ren).
Whats everyones view on having all RID traders requires to have at least one stocked vendor in the mall? If nothing else, the image of having an adequate shopping center in RID's capital pulls off a good image for potential recruits wishing to join our guild. It's located by the shuttleport, and I'm sure that the amount of legacy quest players that drop by would offer a modest amount of credits for basic necceseities like vehicles, food, and the like.
I would like at least 6 vendors in the mall, although I do understand traders are often based in private shops or other malls in our sister-cities, which is okay. But if there is room for one more vendor that you can operate, I would like at least basic neccesities in Fort Oasis, perhaps.

I do not support revitalizing the Fort Oasis mall at this time. In fact, I would rather just destroy it and start over. This is very low on my priority list as we don't even have the traders for any type of vendor setup.

I think getting that many vendors in the FO mall is optimistic. I attribute most of it to where traders live. I live in Nar Shadda, so that is where my vendors are staying. The only time I sell things on a different planet are when I stick things on the Bazaar in Mos Eisley. Having vendors on multiple planets can be tough or just plain old time consuming. So, encouraging traders to live in your city is a must if you want vendors in your mall IMO.
Also, I think we need to look at our recruitment policies regarding traders.

I too live in Nar Shadda. It is a very rare sight for me to log on and see a mail that I sold something. However, I have always liked living on Dant, and like Kurke said, having vendors all over the place is very difficult and time consuming.
With that said, I do agree that we need to get the FO mall "up to snuff". It is our capital city, and therefore it is what people look at to see how well our traders are and the like. But that poses a problem. We don't have traders. Well, not that many of them. I define a trader as someone who ACTIVELY attempts to produce products to sell. Be it a crafter or someone who sells their loots. Either way, we don't have that many. Most are alts that are used to better their own main combat toon. I can understand that, since that is what I had mine for before JTL. Now that I've returned I find myself logging on to my trader, doing the harvester run, checking my vendors and restocking as needed, then logging on to Flashlight to "level" him. I mostly level him by killing stuff around Nar Shadda that drops the loot that I sell.
We have many people in this guild, it's just that, well, face it, we are a pretty much combat oriented guild. Most of the players, and rightfully so (it is their money after all) choose to focus on combat skills. There are those out there that enjoy crafting and the like, and I would honestly like to see us recruit some more of them.
In the meantime, I may be open to placing 1 vendor in FO, if only to see the difference in sales to figure out where I should be selling my stuff. I won't move my houses though...I like where I live hehe.
p.s. WTS a bunch of leathery hides...seems the grauls just won't go away no matter how many I kill on my doorstep.

Sorry it took me a while to respond.
Yeah I do agree we probably lack the traders neccesary to establish vendors in the mall. We can probably look more to finding unguilded traders in the streets to assist, although I would eventually like to see a revitalization to the mall. I'm not sure that destroying it altogether is an optimal option. It has been around for around 4 years so it's become something part of the city.
I think one major problem with the mall is that it doesn't stand out. I may have a CSR raise the mall to ground level, since it is actually a bug that it sinks into the ground so much. I'm also considering putting up a sign of sorts that someone can see when leaving the shuttle, which says like "Fort Oasis Mall: West".
Anyways, I suppose it's something we can work on later on.

If there are vendors in the mall, it will show up just fine on the overhead map with the names of the vendors.
Later, when there are more vendors in it, we could draw attention to it on a couple-times-weekly basis with storyteller props in front of the mall. Don't they last 24 hours? Could be "something to do" for the Commercial Officers maybe. /shrug
