Well there you go! I'm two things at once! I couldn't be more inquisitive!

Perhaps you're an idiot, or perhaps you're reminding me? I tend to forget my last name and title quite a bit!

Lexx yovel is our leader, and Yovel is his last name! =D

Or am I an idiot for answering example questions?

Yeah. That's pretty much the case at any forum if I'm not mistaken.

Unfortunately, I still see spam-bots getting past the CAPTCHA. It may not be as severe though.

I may consider having registrants answer a question, like, "Who is the leader of RID," or, "What is Lexx's last name?"

Do they still have to be manually approved?

CAPTCHA implemented for all further applicants.

Lets see if it works!

Thanks Tuskano, I'll look into that :)

I don't have much knowledge on running forums myself... but I did a google search on "website security against spam bots" and came up with http://www.webformantispam.com/. It lets you download the book (I think... as it gives a download and buy now option). If you cant get anything from us, that might at least give you a few tips.

Okay, I'm officially tired of spam-bots!

After many years of manually deleting spam-bots en masse, I am finally announcing that I need a better way to prevent them from registering.

My way isn't fail-proof, because often legitimate users get deleted.

So what I need is your guy's help. I need a way to prevent spam-bots on this 2.0.22 version of PHPBB forums.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a question during registrations.

Such as requiring new registrators to answe "Lexx" to the question, "Who is leader of RID?"

Only problem is I do not know where to find such a mod for this forum, nor do I really know how to install it.

So if anyone could help, that'd be greatly appreciated.
